Forgive me if I'm wrong but when does the Emergancy loan window open and is it possible to get Macheda in then. p.s who did André-Pierre Gignac sign for? Didn't Van Der Vaart move to the Spuds take a few days?

its not an emergency cos some fans think the 5 strikers we have are average.

it would only be an emergency if all five we injured

You would not be able to persuade the league that our need for a striker is an emergency. We have too many on the books. The fact that they're all average or worse and we are desperate for a striker is neither here nor there to them.

I think your REALLY underestimating Ba and Best's abilities. Best has scored about 8 in 11 apps(excellent return for a so called ''Championship striker'') and Ba scored about 7 in 12 or something like that with West Ham! #Staypositive..

Although I still would have liked a new striker in!

Watch out for the Best and Ba partnership. Imo, that cross from Ba to Best in the Fulham game was just a tiny example of the link-up play they could potentially have.

A lot of goals. You heard it here first fellas.

I think our lack of CB cover is more pressing

Loan window is for Football League clubs. It's only applicable to us if we are in a genuine emergency like City when they had no goalkeepers. Everton one had literally no fit strikers and were still not allowed a loan.

Just my opinion Sanchin0. I've never been a big believer in stats with regard to football. I prefer what I see with my eyes. Being honest I think stats are for players to look back on with fondness, and Sam Allardyce to form his next defensive masterclass! I think both (more so Ba) have poor technical ability with very average all round games. I don't think either will ever manage many more than 10 league goals a season. I'd play Best because he is our best option but as Pardew noted he has a hell of a lot to prove at this level. I judge him over the course of all his games rather than just look at a record inflated by that West Ham game against the worst defence I've ever seen in a PL game. Now Shearer etc all had their records inflated against some poor opposing teams, but their records were proved over a prolonged period to stand the test of statistical analysis. Best and Ba may do this over a polonged period and prove me wrong, I just very much doubt it and think they lack class.

No, we said a good striker. What use would Arsenal's Ameobi have been?

Personally I prefer a board where all opinions are respected and not just termed as positive or negative. I just view these boards as people stating an opinion on all things Newcastle. The day when a forum becomes a place where you have to follow one train of thought is the day the board becomes pointless and loses credibiltiy. There is nothing wrong with people having a different opinion. If people want a board of doom mongers, or others want a board of happy clappers, I think they'll soon find those kind of forums have very little soul.

Bendtner managed to score 22 goals in 98 apps with arguably some of the best players in Europe feeding him, in Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Jack Wilshere and so on. I wouldn't expect his goalscoring record to get any better by moving to SAFC.

No bother mate I just get fed up with both camps at times. (not saying you fall in either) I don't agree with a lot of what is written on this forum, I wouldn't expect to. It does my head when its all doom and gloom. Equally I don't believe in glossing over the negatives because they're uncomfortable to some. Sometimes I feel the doom and gloom goes too far but that is the nature of freedom of speech and I never like to see comments like the one you put up unless its a WUM clogging the boards. The fact it is tongue in cheek is my bad for not being able to see that.
