On a brighter note, three points is three points. Three games nine points and our attacks not started yet
Thought Widji had a good game. Mane was poo as was Salah except for the goal. Allison did well with that one save especially as he had very little to do most of the game. TAA & Robertson played well, but the rest were a bit meh.
What have you been doing wishi? .................. Oh the match?.........yeah,yeah........that was painful
I thought Firmino played well again but he's struggled for space in the middle. Salah and Mane not being on form is hurting him too
Good game. Opposition teams are playing the defensive games against us this season, but we're breaking through now. We would have dropped points by now last season against defensive games. Salah still looking a little sloppy. Firm didn't get much of a look in and Mane was kept out from finding as much space as he would have liked. Midfield did well again, especially since outnumbered. That was a much better game from Wiji. Very energetic and his passes were on target. TAA wasn't able to get as many crossed in today but he looked more composed. Becker is a fantastic keeper, great quick thinking and distribution but his cockiness is eventually going to cost us at some point. 3 years from now, a little less cockiness and he could be working on becoming a legend.
It is telling that the last 10 mins were hairy with Studge on for Mane. Mane offers so much defensively as well as up front. Widji was motm for me, always kept possession, always sensible passes.
Strange game to watch. Not the best quality, but I was never in doubt that we would win. There are signs the front three are starting to click, but against a mass defence it will be difficult. Again last year, we would have folded when Brighton came out for the last ten. Plus points I thought gomes handled Murray very well, the lad continues to impress. Keita looks an absolute monster.
Bobby took over from Mane. Studge took Bobby's role and he need to be stronger in the challenge; he's never going to do that because he's **** scared of getting injured. Danny did good the ball up well at times but he's a typical greedy striker, there were two chances for him to play a teammate in but he took a twenty yard shot through a packed defence instead #poordecisionmaking
I'm obviously not Klopp, but I would have thought Sturridge playing wide and keeping Firmino more central would have played to their strengths and our straregy better. Firmino looks a little lost on the wing and Sturridge isn't usually going to bring others into the game.
I don't like Bobby on the wing but I understand why Klopp does it. Personally, I'd leave him up top as a out ball. Bobby is great at winning and holding the ball up.
Couldn’t find anywhere to watch, every place had the Juve game on. Sounds like alright performance in game we doninated, should have scored more but got the result which was important. Another clean sheet, 3 in a row at the start. That can only breed more confidence in team going forward. Milner with another motm performance? Guy just gets better with age. Competition in midfield has certainly upped his levels it seems
Klopp On not dropping points: "We thought it would make sense if we don't do that any more! It is actually the plan." On Alisson's skills: "For sure I need to get used to it... The little chip he did was quite exciting. I don't need that! But I have never had a Brazilian goalkeeper before so maybe I have to get used to that too."
I think we did better than "meh". Brighton clogged the midfield and played to kept us from freeplaying. That type of game we would have drawn last year and many other teams will be held. We didn't play bad, BHA were just playing to do exactly what they did: hold us back and give us no space. We scored earlish so didn't need to do anything risky in the 2nd half. The team tried lots of different approaches to crack the nut.
None that he's been punished for, but you could argue that his over-confidence is a mistake and he's just been lucky to be able to recover.
