No I had to sever the chord completely. I started going to just away games for a month or so (a stadium ban might have influenced my decision -smiley face)

AND WILL EVERYONE STOP SAYING I CALLED ALL CITY FANS SCABS!!!!!!!

    I DIDNT.

    here's what I wrote.

I think the "No-one is gonna stop me from attending" attitude is like the "scabs" in the miners strike and a bit selfish and to the Allams appears to be endorsing them.
    IMHO of course.

Maybe after that someone just read that as I think all fans going now are scabs and I got sucked into it.

I have friends who go who I don't even mention a boycott to and like I said my lad goes.

lol im getting misquoted all over the shop
I didn't say back in the day- meaning years ago - I said days gone by and quoted 2007 as the last time we had a settled side and weren't we going for promotion and actually achieved it at Wembley? And I think the Allams have taken our player turnover to insane degrees.
How can anyone get passionate about the present team that's only been here ten minutes?

    Apologies for shouting btw
I've stopped going. Slowly around me my mates had already stopped going despite the teams on field success. When they explained their reasoning I felt a bit of a phoney for still going. And eventually I just couldn't live with myself going to sit in a crowd where half the fans were seemingly prepared to " let him do what he wants its his club"
Fan turned against fan, friend v friend and 6 of my family and friends who sat together, 5 longer go.
The family of 6 behind us stopped too.
Not really a boycott but just pissed off with the servile attitude of the fans and the way the Allams thought they could steamroller over the fans like they have.

Is it really? I am just being honest. what do you want me to do? Keep quiet no doubt? (cue the got it in one retort)
Lie? Why isn't my opinion on the state of the fans who currently attend worthy of comment?
Am I not allowed to express my opinion anymore? Im wrong and those still attending are right? Those still attending are wrong and those not are in the right?

Right that's it!! Ive had enough, I am boycotting this forum and not returning ever.

All I'm trying to do is tip-toe my way through the horror of this world.

A bit like Henriksen most games

**** - In your humble opinion of course.

I take great pride in being slagged off/derided on here. The day I become one of "you lot" or find posters agreeing with my ideas/rants etc is the day I know Ive lost the battle v beige banality.

Some people on here just cant accept they could be wrong.

    You typed this.

“ I wont start slagging off anyone.
All I meant was fans going now are like scabs in the miners strike.
    like”

If you don’t understand that likening City supporters attending matches to “Scabs in the miners strike” is a “slagging off” then basically you’re a bit of a knob.

That has **** all to do with your opinion & everything to do with your ignorance.

I originally said those fans who were saying "no one is stopping me from going " were like scabs in the miners strike in that they were not even prepared to contemplate the whys and wherefores of a boycott

if you cant see that or refuse to then it is you who are ignorant Sir.

This is boring. Ill let you have the last word.

That's the point. You get excited about watching a certain player. You get passionate about your support for the team. It doesn't matter whether they've been here 10 minutes or 10 years. If you aren't getting excited about the team, then maybe the magic has gone and it isn't worth going anymore. I couldn't ever imagine not being passionate about my football team.

Back in the day and days gone by are semantics, they mean virtually the same thing. If you meant 2007 then say that. That team was built over a number of years. The initial aim, as Brown has mentioned a few times, wasn't to get promoted. We did well, then better and it wasn't until January that they really thought they could do it. We had just scraped survival the season before, they weren't expected to do as well as they did. The team that got promoted was full of players who had been here ages. Sadly, once we got there, we quickly realised that the players that had been there weren't really good enough (barring a few exceptions) and we invested quite heavily that season in reinforcing the squad. When we came down, we had to essentially rebuild the squad with a new breed of player. Why would that stop you supporting the team? The dynamic in football has shifted. Clubs that don't have massive amounts of investment have a high turnover of players, either because other teams pinch them or they're put on short contracts to save wages. We're now at that stage. When we came down from the Premier League under Bruce, we kept the majority of players and there was very little turnover, but that was because we had investment. Now we don't.

Hull City could be in the National League in front of 800 fans and I'd still get passionate about them, so would a lot of others. It's what the players deserve, fans that care. Again, that's not to say those that have chosen to go don't care, but I won't stand here and have somebody take a pop at people choosing to go and insisting that a boycott is the only way to get them out, because it simply isn't true.

If I had it my way, I'd have everybody back in the stadium and a huge banner that says "we're doing it for the team, not the regime". Maybe we can borrow Newcastle's. In fact, they hate their owner. But they sell out pretty much every game. Nobody has mentioned a boycott there.

Not sure why you thought that

My question was whether it was really a boycott when you say yourself that it’s hardly a sacrifice and you didn’t even celebrate goals anymore

It sounds more like you just stopped going because you didn’t like it

If you meant 2007 then say that - I did!!! I said days gone by and even up to 2007
by 2008 wholesale changes became the norm and it was hard to become "attached" to a player

I'd get more passionate about a hull city side in the national league.
Don't you think that players coming and going devalues from the level of fanaticism you are able to offer?

And I didn't realise you were stood up.

Sorry I thought you were asking if I still went. Anyone my age knows football today isnt as good as it was in days gone by - even up until the prem visits.

For me its a self imposed exile or a boycott? and yes it doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as it should. Thats the sad part.
Don't you think with a lot of fans saying they wont step in the stadium till they've gone for effect its got to be all or nothing?
At the moment City fans are divided. I think they should unite. It wont happen and as a club we will suffer.

Are you happy putting money into the Allams pockets?

Apart from likening supporters to “scabs” what are you doing to try & unite fans?
