Malky signed 10 players in the transfer window...

    Andrew Taylor
    Ben Turner
    Filip Kiss
    Aron Gunnarsson
    Don Gowie
    Graig Conway
    Joe Mason
    Kenny Miller
    Rob Earnshaw
    Rudy Gestede

How many more do we need from the loan window?

I'd like to see 3, a holding mid-field player and either 2 wide forwards or 1 wide and 1 centre forward.

    Thoughts ?

1 wide man and a big striker, or forget the big striker and start Gestades up front with one of the little-uns ffs.

    Isnt Kiss a holding midfielder?

Agree with Ace... I think all we need now is a wide man (or 2) and another Bothroyd (but one built like a Weeble so he can wobble but not fall down!!).

Just seen the freeview video of Turner on the official site.... he looks HUGE. be interesting to see him and the Beast making forrays into the oppositions box at set pieces...

hasnt MM said in practically every interview that we've lost 12 players? if so then 2 more seems right. whittingham plays in the centre so 2 wide players perhaps? maybe one wide player and a striker? on loan of course..

Wondered how long it'd take for someone to pick that up

To be honest i was more worried on seeing Turner and the Beast in someone's box at the same time <yikes>

With the size on the pair of 'em it'd bring a tear or two to your eyes <cry>

I suppose they could attack the target through alternative routes? <whistle>

By the way, do you mean tear as in cry or tear as in rip apart - or both. <wah>

Brizzle, it's just as well that one will be shooting up front and the other putting his tackle in behind.

I just hope MM gives Parkin a chance to proove himself now, with Conway and Whitts supplying the ammunition into the box, i am sure he would succeed, hopefully Gestede will aswell. Other than that i can see MM looking for another midfielder and another striker on loan. Was at the Vale earlier today on a meeting and watched the squad training, the Mexican guy looked quite useful, albeit only training.

Hiya guys, I agree with others here..

think we could do with another wide man for cover another player wherever Malky sees fit and of course a striker is needed - now I don't nessecarily buy into the big man little man combi and players of Miller and Earnie's style have worked in the past, but a player who can hold the ball up on the ground as well as a good ball winner in the air would be desirable.. i'd like to see Malky stick with Miller/Earnie for a few more games and if it's still not working (preferably without disastrous consequences) then change it for Gestede with Earnie/Miller or whoever Malky brings in.. I'm pretty convinced Malky has somebody lined up already though. Don't forget, with Gunn-show's and Kiss's return to fitness their roles within the team is to sit at the base of the diamond, freeing up whitts to work his magic up the tip of the diamond, allowing Miller and Earnie to run opposite channels therefore creating more chances.. that's the theory anyway, but making use of Conway and Taylor's excellent crosses is crucial for mixing it up too.

I've noticed Beattie has been released by Rangers last night, now apparently he's not played in months and seriously lacking in fitness, but does anybody think he could still do a job at championship level? He was a player I highly rated on his day in the Premier League. Worth a punt perhaps or let somebody else take the gamble? hmmm..

Beattie - no - has been a lazy git for a few years now and would probably want high wages. Would not be a good return on capital employed. How old is he anyway? And injury prone. Not that I've any strong feelings on the matter. <whistle>

ISAW - Parkie just hasn't got it for the level we need to play at. Was awful at 2nd Div. Oxford, improved last week v. Huddersfield and got a goal - only his
2nd for us and for a guy of his size he just doesn't dominate defenders enough - unless playing us. <doh> Did you see how Alan Lee played against us last week? That is what we need.

Benni - did you go to Llanelli on Tuesday? If so, what was your view of the triallists. See positive comment on the Mexican above although WoL said he wasn't that good in the game. At least he is still training with us and Malky hasn't shown him the door yet.

Think Beattie would be worth a punt if we could start him with a 6 month contract, provided his wage demands weren't too great (and provided we got James Beattie and not his useless namesake Craig!!).

I think a few of the small Prem clubs might take a look at him too TBH but if we can show enough ambition, the lure of going for promotion rather than fighting relegation may swing it....

Saying that I'm not sure if Sven has heard he's available yet. Leicester seemed to be going through the yellow pages equivalent of players trying to buy a striker in the last few days....

Yeah popped along to Llanelli t'other night BfB, I think we've got better in the squad to he fair.. He was nothing special and did a spectacular "mong-kick" as I like to call them that led to Llanelli having a clean run on goal which was well saved by our keeper.

He was alright like don't get me wrong, good with the ball at his feet and passed well, he's no mug to be fair and a friendly they're not going to be that impressive or going at it 100%.. Shame I was looking forward to wearing my sombrero down the CCS if he signed! ;)

The other trialist Adam Smith was kak! No pace, and out of the game for long periods. Very good first touch though. Macca looked some classes apart from the rest though and looked

Cheers Benni, no cause for hope there unless Malky sees something you didn't. Good to see Macca well on the road to a return to the squad (if not the team). Damn 5 sub rule it really restricts our bench options and leaves some good players twiddling their thumbs instead of chomping the bit to get on the pitch. Send the rule to Divs. 1 & 2 but bring back 7 subs to our league.

2 wide men and a big striker. I think we need just a little more width and cover in wide areas and like said above another big man little man combo up top. So would be good to get in another player to cover or share the work with Gestade.

It hardly seems fair to judge Inigo on a game with Llanelli the guy seems to make clean tackles on the video that cannot be luck.
