Lets put it this way Ron, the Argyle fans complained very loudly about the Wycombe tactics from a couple of seasons ago regarding time wasting and falling down etc. Well they could only wish they had fallen down and wasted time in this game because they certainly didn't. I don't know what Adams said to them at half time or if they took drugs or something but they never even got started in that half. Wycombe were at it from the kick off and hardly stopped pressing. If your goal had come early in the second half then there is no doubt you would have had 3 points at the end. You brought on your secret weapon (good ole Adey) and we always cave in when he arrives. Mackail-Smith looks a good signing for you. He was everywhere. The Ref genuinely was awful and he gave you everything virtually. That isn't an excuse by the way and I'm not making it up. There was an injury to one of your's in your box as an example and your players played on as they were attacking. They could have kicked it out at anytime but chose not to and the Ref allowed the game to go on. The move broke down and a counter attack was on with 4 of our's against 3 of your's. He blew up and pointed to the prone player. He had seen him a couple of minutes before and chose to do nothing until the ball changed hands. Shocking decision and one of many he made. I gave up trying to figure out why his whistle went most of the time. If honest I wish I'd not bothered and had stayed home.

Because he was halfway in the crowd phil and he took a bit of time to get out of the hugs etc from the fans. Apparently you get booked for over celebration these days.

FFS. It will soon be back to the old days. When I scored a goal it was straight back to the middle for the kick off. Maybe a pat on the back but no celebrations like we get these days. I don't see a problem with celebrations unless it is inciting the opponents' fans.

I remember Steve Brown getting a red card once because he celebrated scoring a very important winner/equalise in the 90th minute. He took off his shirt to display (I think) a picture of his son on his T Shirt (there is a story behind that I'm sure someone will recall). Red card in the 90th minute for that. It's ****ing madness

He did it at the away end in front of your supporters so no Argyle fans involved. I agree it's a bit bleddy daft but as with shirt stripping they all know it will get them a card if they do it but they still do. It's a needless card they may end up regretting later.

Not sure I know what a pat on the back is Ron. I hardly ever scored so if I did team mates just fainted and I was the only one left standing. Mind you, some of the celebrations these days are so naff they deserve to get booked.

If like you said earlier Greeny we were on top in the second half to eventually score in the 84th minute what does a ref expect & it was our time we were wasting.

I'm not saying they aren't entitled to feel a wee bit chuffed phil I'm saying it's the rules the Ref is given so it isn't him being a stuffed shirt. The players know this so if they give him no option other than getting a card out then it is definately their own fault. Enough bookings have happened over the subject previously for them to have twigged by now. I accept footballers are generally not the brightest in the house.

Sometimes the emotion gets the better of them, often because the feel they have done it for someone close (as was the case with Steve Brown). With Bloomfield, I guess it was that Gareth had faith in him, despite some critics, he is Mr Wycombe, and he salvaged a massive point late on. I don't think he is thick; the cleverest person in the World can get emotional in certain circumstances
