We've all been intensely panicing all day haven't we! Gyan "wanting to leave," Anton actually leaving and (eventually) getting in a half decent striker, when in fact there were very few better alternatives.

The fact that everyone seems to have missed is that, for me one of our best players has also stayed. A player who, when fit will walk back into the team.

Of course Im talking about Craig Gordon- Can't wait to get him fit again as for me he is one of the best keepers in the league- Will defo help our defence out!

    Agreed about Gordon........

Wasn't to fussed about Gyan as long as a replacement was brought in.

I think Bentner will bring the best out of Gyan to be honest.

it hasn't been a very active day with far less movement overall than there might have been.

So much for Cisse and Helmes, I would have preferred either one to Bendtner tbh, but I prefer him to Crutch. He's 23 and must be keen to resurrect his career in a team where he will be able to play with regular first team action and with everything to prove. My only reservation in that, we have known about the need for someone like Bendtner for 7-8 months and the solution seems like a last minute lottery. However, fair play -we've landed a good one.

Who knows but maybe we'll get Cisse in January. For now I'll go for a Dane at 6 ft 5 than a Welsh bellend at 5 ft 8 that some wanted.

The best news of the transfer window is that 'Arry didn't con £12m out of us for Crouch. Bentnar is a much better deal imo.

agree what davie said, Bendtner definately is better than Crouch, although i would have taken Crouch but not for the fee Stoke have paid

Good news is we kept Gyan and Gordon, Bendtner on loan is a very shrewd move as it gives Campbell a chance to be fit and play before Bendtner goes back to Arsenal. It also means if Whickham and Ji come good we don't have Bendtners wages to pay for 5 years.

Bad news is Royston Drenthe would have solved a big problem for us and we seemed to know nothing about him, also with Anton going I feel we are a bit light at the back, I can't believe Onouha has not gone anywhere?? or did I miss something.

If we are to play Sess on the left surely Ricco has to play LB?? or were going to have a very lopsided team with 2 x right footers on the left. Or shock horror play Ricco on the left in his natural position??

I like the look of this
    .................Gordon.......................
    Bardo...Brown...Bramble...OShea
    ..................Catts........................
    ....Larsson................Richardson.....
    ...................Sess........................
    ..........Gyan..........Bendtner...........

Or something like the above. It means you can go defensive and put Gardener in for one of the stikers, or go 2 up top if we need to attack.

Cheers Syd, I want Brucies job, the team I manage is joint top of the Tamworth District Sunday League Div 2, do you think that's good enough experience to get the Sunderland job ;) done a lot of tapping up to get some decent players in, not had to bribe any agents yet.

Works for me that team, Sess and Ricco are interchangeble as well, in theory.

Just looks instantly finished with a striker in there, and mean Whickham and Ji can be bled in gradually, and hopefully one or ideally both are settled by ACN time.

Its where psg got the most joy out of sess, with Catts doing the Makelele. Id certainly play that team against the weaker teams at home but against the top.teams I think wed get over run in the middle.

Lostinvegas, I have read reports that we have an option to purchase for £8m in the summer. If so, it looks like a good deal to me having a traial run.

I hope this is the case, £8million seems a fair price, but if he did well for us, and nothing is pre-arranged, we could get well and truly stung.
