I noticed on the OS pictures of last nights' win over Swindon Town a banner in the Saints fans entitled "Scum Army". It made me chuckle, but then think. We all know that social group often claim or re-claim terms so that they no longer hold offence, but I doubt that anyone is seriously offended by being called 'scummer' or 'skate' if you are blue. However, I think it would be fantastic to claim the title for a couple of songs. Singing "Scum Army", at least only at Fratton this year (maybe Brighton too, in between bouts of "does your boyfriend know you're hear" I did hear a few return calls of "scummer" when they popped over in League One) would cause chuckles on all sides, and perhaps relieve the somewhat spiteful tension. We need more banter at games with Pompey and less hatred. Also, singing "we are the scummers, the pride of the south, we love/hate (you decide) all those ******** who come from Portsmouth, they only take benefits, they only take drugs, the scummer boys are in town" would also bring a tickle to my beer filled belly. Or perhaps I am sad, and have too much time on my hands before Uni (I do work though so don't say it). Just something light-hearted, but anyone fancy joining me for a few choruses with our faviroute name?

The "Scum Army" flag belogs to the saints casuals, unless someone else has one which I doubt. There will always be hatred at the game with the skates...

No to the song. "My old Man" is much better.

Yeah it is. Never noticed it at St Marys, but then again you gotta be sat near a turnstile really to place one. I only once took a banner to a game, Colchester away first year in League One, except I was at the top of the stand (banging advertising boards but then one broke, quite badly) and so I placed my banner where there was some space at the bottom. I am still hunting down the kid who I watched nick it at full time, but was helpless to deter. Awful banner anyway.

I'm pretty sure the guy that owns this particular flag is on a 3 year banning order, that's why you won't see it at SMS. He can get into away games as mates by tickets and the stewards don't recognise him.

Shocking game Jen, I agree. Bart is a far to handsome Polish lad to not be able to see because of the fog engulfing half the pitch. My missus informs me that only him and Schneiderlin (and Davis topless)b are worth seeing when coming to St Marys! And Joey B, that would make sense, well if you consider the amount of fans that have recieved banning order, particularly from the Northam, that is a fair few vocal supporters. However their fault for getting banned, but I have noticed myself how a couple of faces have left the past few years because of banning orders. Just take sone drunken throw of a coin...

Ah Joey B that was the scene of the crime? And Jen, I wonder how the female ratio of the crowd was in the days of Le Tiss, as opposed to the days of that luscious frenchman in the middle of the park. Personally, I find Jaidi highly attractive, and one day I shall give that man a hug.
