Here's the BBC's take on their sacking Dr Phil Hammond... However, if you read the story on Ceefax (or whatever they're calling it these days to pretend it;s not just a glorified Ceefax) the headline says the resigned, which doesn't in any way bring to mind the works of George Orwell...
Dr Phil co-wrote a Radio 4 series called Polyoaks (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01nvb5b) which is rather damning about the NHS. I don't think it leaves any doubt about his politics. This was presumably running at the same time as his Radio Bristol show, which is of course about medical matters and not politics. Can't help thinking that just taking him off the airways for the duration of the campaign would have been more sensible. This option must now of course be taken in all future instances on all sides of the political spectrum. Edit: I put the link in but just realised there are no episodes available on iplayer at the moment.
Best thing that could ever happen if he need. Most of his most devoted followers are so stupid they would blindly follow the message and never get to the ‘hoax’ part. Would wipe out half of middle America - and his primary support - overnight
