Apparently raisins soaked in gin can alleviate joint pain .

Crimbo Eve when I was about 18 and me and my mates lifted some full bottles of spirits from an offy (not easy to hide a full glass bottle under a box jacket!). when I got outside I was gutted to discover that I had picked up a bottle of Gordon's Gin and not Scotch or Rum or ANYTHING else. Ended up drinking the whole bottle and was as sick as a dog for a couple of days...just the smell of the stuff turns my stomach now.

Actually you could argue, nothing could be more Spanish. They love it. My local distillery Sipsmith makes a good iteration.

I prefer a good bourbon or rum. Or mescal, tequila

Fever tree aromatics is a very nice Tonic water. Like a drop of Gin, but Gordons does me fine, not a connoisseur

  8. Dropped £36 on a bottle of Brockman’s gin, and shared it with my lad who gets his gcse results tomorrow.

It was a real Dad/Son evening that comes along once in a lifetime.

Its named after the Dutch name for Juniper Berries. Jeneverberes.

Remember KLM used to give passengers a choice of the Dutch houses filled with Genever. The Dutch passengers used to pull out a list of what they need for the full set. I would drink the gin and then leave the house on the plane when I got off.

Not a drinker but I've heard that Gin is 'fashionable' nowadays

In which case I would have been 'out' on principle

  12. It’s more popular than it was.

I’ve always been partial to a long, cold G&T. It’s not a fad for me.

Recent times has seen the emergence of lots of new brands, which is always welcome.

it's popular because it's considered a diet drink, generally drank with slim-line tonic.

  15. I don’t feel gay, Burly.

I’ll ask my boyfriend if he thinks I’m gay.
