Objecting to food and taste is fine, but trying to give it an importance it hasn't got is what I object to. Don't apologise or comment, Jamie....people are too eager to rush and apologise to people with the sensitivity of a sunburnt wasp.

I’m married to a Jamaican and love Jamaican cuisine. It’s a bit of a passion for me. I think this is a load of old bollox. Just can’t understand why someone has raised it. Actually, I can. It’s jjst a chance to have a dig at Oliver. Fair enough, but don’t wrap it up in a cultural attack.

Who says there is no such thing as Jerk rice.? It’s someone putting some spices into a dish with rice. Where is the “law” or “rule” on that. Are you going to go round and shut down all those fusion restaurants next?

For the record, “Jerk” was originally used as a means to preserve meat. Herbs and spices were used to cover raw meat, before wrapping it in something like a banana leaf and burying it in the ground. It was only after this had been going on that it was discovered that this left a nice flavour on the meat.

Furthermore, nearly every Jamaican household has its own version of Jerk, so where’s the rule on jerk there?

And don’t get me started on the comment in the article about Levi Roots and Jerk. The sauce he launched after dragons den, was absolutely nothing like his original recipe he used to make in his kitchen. Nothing like it. So far from authentic it is untrue. Mass market sell out. His original sauce was lovely.

    Well that went well.

    A ‘small’ upgrade at work:

Boss: “No7 will you do it tonight, it will only take an hour?”
    No7: “No problem”

I started at 8pm, just finished now at 5:40am....

Picked up something from the same page....Finn fined 54,000 euros as speeding fines there are based on income. As a general rule I favour everyone being treated the same, but I think it's a good idea to base fines for speeding on income....the punishment has to punish to have deterrent value. He looks even more of an idiot to say that it made him think about leaving Finland...where he earns nearly £5 million a year....well, boo hoo. Poor chap.

I read that too, and thought what a fair way to do it. A £500 fine would hurt me, but not him. A £50,000 fine does. It would probably bankrupt me many times over :)

I have. My wife keeps telling me that she'd sell me for medical experimentation if she could have him.

Brilliant as James Hunt in Rush, amusing as Thor in the Avengers movies. I just wish he’d been cast as Jack Reacher instead of Tom Cruise, who is nowhere near the required 6’5”.

Punishment should fit the crime in my opinion. Only speeding fines then, no other fines to be a deterrent?

Motorists are the most put upon group known to mankind. Easy pickings.

So I finally saw the film Moneyball which I've wanted to see for ages. It was pretty good, and certainly made baseball out to be exciting. Though I feel like I would have enjoyed it even more if I actually understood baseball. Also, all of the games I've ever seen have never been as high scoring as some of the games in that film!

Though I feel football could do with much more on the statistical analysis side...

It's all about the expected goals now PL. More is good, there is some around though.
