Caption competition #239 finishes at 6pm tonight. We have football historian, twice Author and LUFC statistician @leedstats judging this competition this evening. What about a couple of late entries? https://www.not606.com/threads/caption-competition-239.365875/
Hi Pennth I’m guilty of that but it’s a footie forum to discuss the game. However, I do try to give my thoughts on what I have seen, match to match not on who my favourites are
I'm a bit puzzled by all these calls for a new CB. Bielsa doesn't agree with you! And I know whose opinion I consider to be most important. #IBWT. Last night's post match presser - skip to just after 7 mins. He's perfectly clear, and expects 4 players to be injured at any one time in the season. I had the feeling he wasn't looking for another CB. This strengthens my belief ... https://www.leedsunited.com/video/98877/press-conference-marcelo-bielsa-post-swansea
No harm done Marcus, we are all entitled to our opinions. My mind and my eyes work a bit slow these days. So would hate to criticise an individual and be wrong.
Can’t say I’ve studied them in depth but I get the impression Brentford play a similar style to Bielsa’s Leeds
0-1 Brentford Their goalie is vulnerable to high crosses. Villa have most of the possession but are making mistakes. Brentford not pressing like we do, hitting them on the break, and making fewer mistakes Brentford striker (Maupee?) taking up some good positions, just drifting away from defenders
Maupay a dirty ****er should be off. Villa improved got a goal back - Kodga or whatever has been bloody good Grealish needs stopping like Samu does Villa finishing the strongest but 2 good teams both attacking
Good evening Matt & all Good evening Matt Berardi has settled well in his new role, looks comfortable on the ball Many have failed to mention how we controlled the game much better when Klich dropped back into a defensive role. He is MOTM on one forum by a country mile. Berardi or Klich for me Ayling is no CB, we need a proper centre-back in there For all the rave reviews about Shackelton's fine performance we missed Ayling's energy & link-up play with Hernandez, Luke causes mayhem when he drifts into the opposition box as it's not easy for defenders to pick him up coming from deep. There was no chance he get anywhere near Swansea's box playing as a CB apart from set-pieces!
Not sure beating Stoke was as big an achievement as we thought, they are looking to follow Sunderland atm
Villa Brentford is a good game, I’m still watching (usually get bored). Villa well on top but still could go either way. That guy Maupay needs a long ban though, hope they do something.
