    It was broken anyway in the repocalypse where peoples' rep got so large it could no longer be represented by a 32-bit integer.

    The software could have been changed to use 64-bit integers but instead the rep was just dropped.

    The rep was causing a programming error in the change over. Dropping it was easier than finding a fix
