Wouldn't it be great if, just for once, City made a 'Stella' signing on deadline day instead of it just passing us by as usual ! Somehow, you just know that all that will happen is that 'fringe' players will either be sold or loaned-out at the last minute with no-one coming in. Fact is, we could do with another centre back so Mr McNally get the chequebook out ! OTBC
Unfortunately I agree that it is highly unlikley that we will sign someone who would actually make a difference to the team; good squad member maybe, but not sure we really need that. I
Tom Adayemi out on loan to Oldham till New Year. I am convinced that we wont sign anyone ourselves, and tbh I am glad that we have got all our business done early in the window with no need for panic or paying-over-the-odds! I don't really buy into the need for another CB- we have 5 CBs on our books for the season. OK, 3 of them are injured right now, but unless I'm missing something 2 of the injuries are likely to be very short-term. It wont help anyone to buy a permanent player to cover a very short-term problem.
I'm in two minds about the lack of transfer activity, especially as lots of our competitors are busy stengthening their sides. I would love to see some real quality and experience brought in, but alas I can't see it happening. I do however, think we need it.
Just a couple of questions. If we sign another player - central defender? - tonight who do we kick out of the current 25 man squad to make way for him and what do we do with that ' kicked out ' player? if we buy another central defender what do we do with all 6 of them - 25% of our total squad - when they are all fit?
Mate, you're obsessed with this 25 man squad lark! Looks like Cody might be off to Coventry, and Stephen Hughes' contract has been terminated with immediate effect

A 'Stella' signing are wwe getting the reassuringly expensive brew at Carra. It would be better than the normal gnats piss.
Ward will be fully fit after the international break same with Vaughan. Great having more options available.
Cody has gone to cov, hopefully for a decent fee. Good luck to him Just one year I want us to sign someone on transfer deadline day Colin seems to be trying to sign anyone and anybody on a massive wage
According to the BBC, Cody Mac has signed for ColU for an undisclosed fee, cant see any info anywhere else, someone tell me it's true.
monarch the BBC got that wrong- it's Coventry, check the ncfc twitter. We've also managed to offload Stephen Hughes and McNamee. Good luck to them, but it's nice to see them off the wage bill.
Perhaps I'm the only one, but I'm glad we didn't buy anybody, looking at the players going around there seem to be a lot of average players, who I don't think would improve our squad much; they are also very expensive (£20m combined for palacios and crouch from spurs to stoke), so we would be spending big on panic buys that would not improve us that much. We would also have the problem of new players settling in, whereas we have a squad which, for the most part, has had an entire pre-season together to get to know each other, both on and off the field. Add to that getting rid of mcdonald, hughes and mcnamee, and adeyemi some more experience at a lower league side, and I think we can be happy with the deadline day deals!
I'm with you. I think we have enough already. 3 games in and we are getting better each game. Without some very dubious officiating and some naivity at times we could easily have 6 or 7 pts now. As soon as we get that first win on the board we will be on our way.
A good squad agreed, but of course it could be strenghtened and I am slightly worried it wasn't. I need to find more faith in the team but I think we need some exra quality in centre of defence and midfield (even with a fully fit squad)
Just took a peek at the Coventry forum - clearly they're all underwhelmed about Cody Macs arrival, not a word about it on there
Cromer - if you look properly at the Coventry board, they've only had 42 threads posted in total! Obviously the vast majority of them are on another site!
