Same, mate. Arsenal have had a tough start but I've seen nothing from their play under Emery to suggest much has or is going to change from last season. Baring in mind he had a full pre-seaosn with 95% of his squad, it doesn't seem like he's worked on much. Still picks duds like Xhaka and Bellerin and he still hasn't been able to tell Ozil that he's allowed to play in big games. Their new signings have just boosted numbers but not quality - and it's quality they needed as their first XI just isn't good enough for a club of their size. Sokratis got butchered by Kane and Son at Wembley, he's also looked out of place in his first two Prem games. Leno I know nothing about but a has-been Cech is still getting picked above which doesn't bode well. Guendouzi - or Guenzi as I will now call him thanks to @The Liebherr Legacy - just looks like a B-rate Harry Winks, gooners getting excited just because he can pass the ball sideways at 19. Lichsteiner was an excellent FB for years but at 34 he won't be bringing much to the table other than experience (should still start over Bellerin though). Torreira hasn't played much but he alone won't be making them significantly better. Not one of their new boys would make our XI, they'd probably struggle to actually make our squad. How times have changed.
The Ramsey situation indicates that there's problems within the camp, too. Ozil's on too much money and Aubameyang's getting a CL bonus whilst they're not in the CL. The whole thing's ****ed and their longest serving player isn't having it. Either they overpay him, or he's going to see what he can get elsewhere as a free agent, as yet again, he's another player whose contract's up. No CL next season would mean that improved sponsorship deals won't be increasing their income, just filing the void. That impacts on replacing the aged and infirm around the place and there's plenty of them. With Usmanov selling up, the writing's on the wall......They're Kroenke Franchise FC now and that's a major no-no as far as winning things is concerned.
Similar to the Pogba situation it seems. Aside from the fact Pogba hates his manager, being on 'only' on £250k (poor him) he's supposedly unhappy that Sanchez is getting £500k. Didn't know Ramsay only has a year left though, they love letting their player's contracts run down, don't they?
Some media sources are claiming that the club is going to consult fans about a potential home draw in the League Cup. The draw could either be flipped to an away one or played at a neutral venue. I'd be against giving away a home tie, but what the hell would work as neutral?
If we're going that route, then surely Orient would be a more likely candidate? Our reserves played at Brisbane Road for quite a few years, didn't they?
They play at Stevenage these days - and, like most Spurs fans, I have bad memories of cup games at Stevenage...
Not Redknapp's finest hour. Not the greatest surface either, IIRC. Do our U23s still play there? I thought it was all at the training ground now?
Apparently Sanchez is on a "basic wage" of approx £430,000 with a "bonus" of £70,000 every time he plays. The stupidity of that bonus is only matched by Arsenal paying Abamiyang a CL bonus of several million even though they didn't qualify.
For a brief moment I thought you were talking about our one. Then I realised that there is a second rate one somewhere else.
