I have a totally different opinion about how easy it would be to replace bobby.....which is cool. I think Mane and Salah are actually easier to replace....but probably more expensive! That may not make sense but name me another #9 capable of doing what he does. There are several players who could do what the others do - I don’t want to lose any btw!
I think De Bruyne, Hazard, Ozil, David Silva could all adapt to his role. You need someone with a good forwards presence and a good eye for a pass.
Speaking of the narccacist. I know there is a thread for this... But anyone else who watches Vikings get reminded of Ronaldo Everytime Ivar the boneless is on the screen. There is something about his look, his mannerism, etc that screams Ronaldo.
God, maybe I’m seeing something others don’t I don’t see any of those guys doing what Bobby does exactly- they’re all good or great players but most are #10’s, or don’t track back or aren’t physical enough... Perhaps I’m just massively biased
Mane and Salah are match winners - capable of producing moments of individual brilliance. Firmino contribution is a lot more subtle but just as important. But he isn’t a match winner. His game is built on movement and intelligence. If you asked him to focus on staying up front all game, then he’d score a lot more goals I reckon. However, he does so much graft combined with creating space for others.
I don't really get the point you're trying to make. Firmino looks better with better players around him? Well of course he does - he's a team player, and team players are better with better players around them to work with. A player who's job it is to be a linchpin needs to have someone of quality to feed off him. Mané and Mo have more extravagant skills, certainly, and that makes them more eye-catching, but Firmino is the more intelligent of the three by far, imo.
Found this post on Instagram and it was in relation to the goal Monaco scored. The interesting part is where the move began and it was Fabinho. He can run @moreinjuredthanowen plus it seems Klopp is helping him settle and adjust to the pace of the league. Interesting that Hendo, Fabinho and Shaqiri have yet to play a major part #depth
that's strength and power not chasing someone back 30 yards. nice clip though... very good with things in front of him is my view. just watch and see what I am saying if and when he gets his game. if he gets caught up the pitch I don't think he will get back. but then the secret is don't get caught.
Think milks point is that it's easier to find someone to do what firms does than to find someone like Salah. I agree. Also Salah is far more important that firms. I agree. Obviously attacks and defences are the sum of its parts and you need balance. Who knows how well Salah would get on with a firms lite but we have seen how Liverpool get on salahless.
lfc fans appreciate the work firmino puts in. Salah has that different style than firmino. one guy is a flexible forward who can play anywhere across the line but plays it similarly. he comes towards the ball and gets involved in the build up. the other is looking to run in behind and finish. it's ying and yang. one without the other doesnt work. salah needs guys to play him in and be looking for him. firmino needs a guy to pass to.
Indeed it is... I absolutly wouldn't want to lose him, but of the front three he is the only one that we could realistically replace... And... I also agree with... I agree with this too. Firmino is one of the more complete players on our team, is certainly hard working. Perhaps not the best specialist in any role, but he is important to our team and we don't currently have a replacement for him when he's injured. I actually think Firmino is more of an attacking midfield player than an out and out forward and that's the type of player he is best compared against.
Couldn't disagree more. Imo Firmino would be the hardest to replace. I do agree that he's a AM that's plays a F9 role but you tell me a No.10 (or anyone for that matter) that could do what Bobby does. The previous suggestions of Silva, KDB and Hazard were embarrassing btw Bobby isn't the best player in the world, far from it. But I do think he's one of the best, if not the best, at what he does.
I think we just have different ideas about what football is, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.
