No goal threat, no hope of scoring, that's 2 points from a possible 12, so disappointing.

    Anything but that!

QPR have taken another battering. In many ways our tight results are more dangerous because they'll have no choice but to act.

Big games against Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich to come. Fail to win one of those two, and that will be a long international break to dwell on our league standing, where we will surely be bottom three.

Nuggets, good point about the international break. I guess that's the time when if beyond that we play the same way it'll be curtains either for Hurst or for Town's Championship status.

I’m worried about the amount of mistakes Bart is making at the beginning of this season. Looked to be at fault for 2nd goal. He’s made more errors in the 1st few games of this season than he did for pretty much the whole of last season

When we don't score goals and are on the back foot for most of the game it puts pressure on the defenders. I think it's just a symptom of the system.

Dress it up as much as you like with the new era stuff but when you bring in a load of inexperienced league 1 and 2 players you are always going to struggle! We have no quality simple as that!!

We’ve been under the cosh for the past two seasons for most the games we played, but how many times have we seen several superb stops from Bart to keep us in matches? It’s unrealistic to expect him to keep bailing us out, but the fact he was our player of the season for three consecutive seasons underlines his importance. When he is making mistakes (that’s two this season that has already led to goals) it doesn’t exactly help. I don’t think he has confidence in the defenders. Either that, or he’s got too complacent and comfortable after the new contract.

It's not the players Warky, it's the system.

Everybody on Radio Suffolk is saying the same thing that I said after the first game. We can all see it, why can't Hurst?

We didn't spend those two seasons camped in our own half though Nuggets. If the only way we can get a result is to keep a clean sheet it will always make the whole backline nervous.

Paul Anderson is saying he's not a coach but he thinks Town should play 2 up and the team should play a bit higher..

Spot on Johnny, we can talk about systems, needing time to gel, blah blah, but the fact remains that we sell proven Championship players and take the cheap option if and when we replace them, we might get lucky now and again but the general direction is one way only. There are good Prem players going out on loan so for Gods sake Evans get some in.!

I think this was the first game this season we’ve been “camped in our own half”. Bart looks complacent and working under a new manager where his distribution has to step up.

The issues for me is the fact we sold / let go our top five goalscorers this season and have not got a single proven Championship scorer in the squad. Hurst needs to identify one to get in on loan this summer. It should be our priority.

If we were selling great players I'd agree. But even if we are relegated and then come back stronger it would be better than the monotony of the McCarthy era. I'm very happy that we managed to fleece the likes of Bristol City and Derby by getting very good money for such average players.

It was a mistake to let McGoldrick go for nothing (and Hyam) but I'm glad to get Garner and Waghorn out for the money we got.

It's good money I agree but it's only worth anything if you put it to good use, to make a huge profit on players only to replace with poorer quality makes no sense whatsoever.

I don’t believe we have done that.

Listening to Hurst he still can’t see the problem. He is trying to be positive but in his voice you can hear the disappointment and concern.

For the first time he blamed the quality of the opposition, which was a McCarthy trait.

No positives at all to take from this evening.

Let’s not get too downhearted and pessimistic though. It is only four games into the season and no side gets relegated this early. Yes, we lost 2-0 against a side where we have traditionally done well recently, but Derby have thrown money at this squad again this summer and brought in some good players. Yes, two points from 12 does not make for positive reading, but there was a lot of praise and appreciation for the club after the spirited draw with 10 men three days ago. I would not write us off yet. A win against either Sheffield Wednesday or Norwich and we will climb the table, especially this early in the season. We’ve brought nine players in this summer, which was required considering the players released (decided before Hurst came) and the fact both Webster and Waghorn wanted to leave meant reinforcements were necessary.

Hopefully Evans will realise that he needs to provide Hurst with more funds and to bring in the loan players that Evans wants, but is clearly unable to bring to the club because of this stifling budget. How much have we saved on the wage bill? How much money has Evans made this window? Let’s show some ambition and get these targets that this squad clearly needs for the good of the long-term health of this football club!
