It never worked out with Essam El Hadary, so we currently have three GKs: Basso, Gulasci and Oxley.

So - is Peter Gulasci going to stay here, because it looks like we can't afford to send him back to Liverpool? Unless we get another GK in on loan when the window opens. It's not an ideal situation if his communication with his defenders is as bad as has been claimed.

Also - how does he set about getting his confidence back - because it must have been seriously damaged by the Leeds game?

    Thoughts?

Time and with Better coaching helps. But first City need a new gk coach. Whats Ian McKechnie and Jeff Wealands doing nowadays ? Actually a pity Tony Norman is with the fuzz and he would be an ideal gk coach. imo.

Hi all, I am new to this forum. Have in the past posted on 'Vital' but that site seems dead in the water at present.

On the goalkeeping front I would hate to be in a situation where Basso gets injured and Gulasci as to come in for a long spell. I just think it would be too much of a risk - could cost us precious points.

Derby County are looking to off load Bywater (see link), could he be worth another stint with us?

Also on the link Derby are set to release Leacock. I seem to remember us almost bringing him in on loan last year (I think). Wonder if NP would be interested in taking a look at Leacock should he become a free agent.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Leacock come in for a trial if he is indeed released

The reason I made the OP is that I understood we were loaned Gulasci so that he could get match experience. If we don't suffer the embarassment of sending him back - then we are going to have to provide match-time, surely?

I doubt very much that the loan agreement will stipulate that he has to play x amount of games during the season. We brought him in to enhance our squad and if we then decide he doesn't I think it's our perogative not to play him

You are probably right but there can be clauses written in to loan agreements, stipulating minimum number of games played and if the games are not reached then a penalty clause fee activated

Don't think the El Hadary deal is completely dead yet personally.
