  1. This is without Shola, Arfa and S.Taylor

    Harper

    Simpson-Williamson-Coloccini-Enrique
    Barton-Guthrie--Tiote-Jonas
    Nolan
    Best

Best is looking the most likely to score, and has been close in each of his games apart from last night.
Lovenkrands isn't looking good at all, and i can't see him doing **** against Arsenal. Ranger, i'd like to give more game time, but to me he's more of an impact player. He'd be better coming on later in the game if we need him, along with Lover.

My line up in a months time when hopefully everyone, apart from Shola, will be fit -

    Harper

    -Simpson-Taylor-Coloccini-Enrique
    -Barton-Nolan-Tiote-Gutierrez
    -Ben Arfa
    -Best

I'd swap Ameobi for Best when he gets fit. I'd also keep Ireland, Gosling, Guthrie and Ranger high in mind for game time, to see if they would be better options. I think if Ireland hits some form, i'd play this formation -

    -Ireland-Barton-Tiote-Ben Arfa
    Nolan
Best/Ranger/Ameobi (Who evers in form or w/e)

    What does everyone think?

What would be your current line up, and also the one where everyone is fit.

Do you think we will see Shola playing in a phantom of the opera style mask in a months time ?

Gives Ruuds 'sexy football' a rather different mental image.

Man at exit of players tunnel: I'm here to kick a football?
Woman at exit of players tunnel: (Clothes fall off)
(sound of funky wah-wah guitar erupts from speakers)

For me, Lover is the man. Best is CCC level at most. Ranger is decent but as we all probably agree, needs to develop but is a great hope for the future.

When I first saw Ranger I thought he was going to be one for the future but he doesn't seem to have improved since then. At the moment Lover is our best option but he isn't an out and out go get'um striker. He's got speed and some skill but hasn't got the 'get in their faces' kind of game that Carroll's got and we need from a striker.

Lover and Ranger to start against Arsenal anyone?

With Tiote back, lets see what Ranger can do with a full 90 minutes! Since Nolan wont be backtracking so much due to Tiote comfortably keeping Fabregas in his pockets all game, he'll be able to get forward more and deliver to Ranger. Possibly? Hopefully...ha

^ This, simply doesn't have the ''quality'' and ''class'' to be a TOP Premier League striker.

Ranger, still very unconvinced by him & Best is inconsistent.

Saying that.. I'll like Ranger & Lover to start come Saturday, Arsenal's CB's aren't great, so it'll be nice to see Pardew go POSITIVE in his attitude, tactics & hopefully a 442 line up.. PLEASE NO 451!

I still want to see Lover & Ranger over 90 mins, we were all dying to see it when Carroll got injured. I think they could be a great mix of height, pace, experience and youth. Lover is an intelligent player and at times Ranger is far from it, he could learn a lot from Lover, who is our most experienced striker (similar to Shola in terms of games is he?)

Both just over 200 games. Shola's on 220ish...cant be bothered to add up Lovers off wiki. Lover has more goals though I think, but for different clubs. So difficult to call.

But I agree, Lover and Ranger could potentially be an excellent mix for the remainder of the season.
