Good Morning Everyone Tyler Roberts has been dropped from the first team, and banished to the under 23's. The 19yo forward has not exactly hit the ground running this season, and has been told to train with Carlos Corberán's youngsters. Meanwhile, we are told that Leeds have no interest in Derby striker Cameron Jerome. It is rumoured tht the 32 year old would be keen on a loan move to ER, but the club have stated that they have necessary fire power up front already, and are concentrating their efforts on another holding midfielder. Leeds MD Angus Kinnear has been talking to the YEP about reinforcing the squad before the loan market slams shut :- “So while the football department will actively monitor the market until the end of the loan window which closes at the end of the month, we feel we are doing so from a position of relative strength,” “We believe that one or two opportunities are likely to present themselves but they will need to manifestly strengthen our hand if they are to be pursued.” I know its early but here are the average home gates so far this season. The Championship average attendances table 1 Aston Villa 34,331 2 Leeds United 33,912 3 Nottingham Forest 27,899 4 Derby County 27,311 5 Norwich City 25,144 6 Stoke City 24,806 7 West Bromwich Albion 24,327 8 Sheffield United 24,252 9 Sheffield Wednesday 23,416 10 Middlesbrough 23,354 11 Birmingham City 21,380 12 Bristol City 20,925 13 Swansea City 19,352 14 Ipswich Town 18.382 15 Reading 18,382 16 Millwall 15,120 17 Queens Park Rangers 14,128 18 Bolton Wanderers 14,112 19 Preston North End 13,707 20 Blackburn Rovers 13,239 21 Wigan Athletic 12,875 22 Hull City 12,233 23 Brentford 10,215 24 Rotherham United 9.460
Morning all... Before the season kicked off I thought it was going to be Bamford in the driving seat, Roberts on the bench, Roofe 3rd choice. If Roofe carries on in this form I’m going to dread what kind of bids himself and other players might attract in January such is the transformation 4 games in. Jerome would be a waste of time at the moment. Kinnears comments suggest no squad signings on loan, only ones who would seriously push for a starting spot, I’d have to agree with that myself.
Morning all, it’s match day! Seeing friends for lunch, then a walk around some gardens to sober up a bit, then driving home for the match on Sky (and a few more libations). Have I mentioned my intense dislike and loathing for estate agents, by the way? Looks like I’ve finally sold but Fock me what a shower. Not you Ell, of course I’m sure you’re the exception
Like Ristac I too thought Roberts would be No2 to Bamford, especially when he tat sublime goal in pre season. He's only 19 though and we watched his head drop in last weeks cup game, and it reminded me of Grot. Think Bielsa has done the right thing and sent him to the U23s where he can build his confidence up again, plus he's been out for a year too. First time in years I feel confident of a result away to a top team. Swansea was one of the favs to go back up but I can see us tormenting them to death tonight. Lets see what harry Potter has to offer as a manager
Morning all Really looking forward to this one, can the sparkling form continue? Wouldn’t mind seeing Bamford and Harrison brought in for Roofe and either Hernandez or Alioski for no other reason than giving a couple of guys a rest. IBWT
Morning all, Not to bring the morning happiness down, but, I think tonight is going to be a real tough match. I believe it will be a real test and a potential turning point if we lose. I'm all for the win, don't get me wrong. I just think its going to be a tough game and any mistakes at the back are going to be punished. The back 3/4 need to be tighter than a yorkshiremans wallet!
Good Morning to the maestro Matt from a cloudy Bardsey Well I am taking my lovely wife to the Magpie for her Birthday treatI cannot divulge her age but Maestro can you play 76 trombones She dearly needs cheering up because 10 years ago tomorrow she buried her only daughter and no mother should experience this Other songs Maestro her favourite is Ella Fitzgerald Summertime and mine is Moon River as Audrey Hepburn looked like her when I first met he N ow to business we were told that Jenson is not fit I don't know about you but to me all is not well with him and the club lets hope he grows up So we are already down to the bones re CB why Foyth not been signed yet to strengthen the squad and we need a holding CMD player why wait to the 11 hour Swansea too have their problems having sold all their best players following relegation they have only one CB and the keeper is injured along with Bony and 2 others so I will predict a 2-0 to Leeds Incidentally it was at Swansea when the Revie revolution began when he played 6 youngsters Addy Johnson LorimerSprake Reaney and Cooper I am going on memory here but that's what I remember and the score was 2-0 to Leeds lets hope it proves right again
IBWT indeed. I ought to mention Swansea are unbeaten in the league too. They are joint 3rd in the table on points, but 7th due to poor GD. Shades of last season, the 3 teams we’ve played are 14th, 15th and 18th. So let’s not get too bullish. Truth is a draw would be a good result away from home. They’ve beaten Sheffield U away, Preston at home and drawn away at Brum. Only scored 3 goals and looked uninspiring on the tv the other day. But obviously hard to beat.
Good morning Matt & all Jerome is not for Leeds thankfully Hull City's attendance has halved since their return to the championship as they head back to League One. I have quite a few Tigers Ra Ra Ra friends who also think they'll be relegated Right time to get ready for the long journey to Swansea
Can't argue with that Brendan because thats the usual way we have been programmed to think for a dozen years. Its gotten so bad we have even worried about lower league teams in the cup. Bielsa has banished that feeling for me though, so until it gets busted again I'm going for a win with style. I see the media are trying their best to talk up loads of loan moves and yesterdays attempt to talk up Cameron Jerome .... Jerry from Capri has got a better average in front of goal, so not for me. We need either another top defender and and or a top midfielder another Forshaw or better.
We neither need, want nor require Jerome......he'll probably spend a lot of time accusing players of racism if they say words like "back pass or back man".
Hey Bucks - I see you three have just had a message from the supermods to say Glory is coming back............. please log in to view this image
Morning all. Not buying into Swansea being anything special. Had a quick look at their match day thread and almost every one of their regulars expecting a Leeds win or draw at best. Most saying their squad has been decimated by sales and played terrible against Brum. So roll on a Leeds win. Eire has even bought a new three piece suite especially for the upcoming season. Mrs Eire of course thinks it was a present for her ha
