I have been a wrestling fan all my life and have watched TNA raise itself from the ground up, put on incredible matches and showcase some fantastic talent. I think I speak for everyone that the past year in impact wrestling has been incredbily difficult to watch. From the way the Aces and Eights story lost all momentum, to dixieland, to 20 minute promos opening the show week in and week out and to most recently MVP turning into another heel authority figure. This of course is just the on screen issues. Of course there have been the usual rumours surrounding the financial state of TNA, Dixie Carter and Panda Energy as well as rumours around any potential new TV deal for iMPACT wrestling. Combine all this and it would seem that TNA may be in a very dark place with no way of returning but there have been a few bright lights of late. TNA finally seem to have found a way to have some tapings away from the terrible iMPACT Zone in Orlando, Florida without breaking the bank it would seem. The return of the 6 sided ring and several old stars of TNA returning hopefully suggests an upturn in fortunes. Kurt Angle has gone over extremely well as the new authority figure and all of this has resulted in a significantly better TV product. Hopefully this improvement in production will result in a new TV deal and will see TNA on our TV for some time yet. What are your opinions on the state of TNA?
Them finding away out of Orlando wasn't really their choice. They kinda had to go. It was cheaper being there but it was holiday makers and not rasslin fans there. The move to NY might be more expensive but you can see the hotter crowds already. Dropping the s**t willow gimmick is the right thing to do. The absurdity of putting their only marketable talent in that gimmick shows how s**t they are. They had to cut costs. Getting shot of their best talents is imo a mistake. Dixie carter is s**t on tv. I think they are done for and this is last chance saloon.
what i don't understand is how they've been at the same arena for so long....and i've been watching tna since 2007/8 when they had the opposite side ring entrances. i also miss the old entrance commentator (think is was don west? who used to introduce the wrestlers weight and residence) <<< this as an example i also miss the hardcore style with wrestlers like CCage, AJ styles, Rhyno, Abyss (of old), Samoa Joe, Daniels, Sabin....now you have poor wrestlers going nowhere like rockstar spud, mandrews?,DJ Z, the clown guy which make me miss more recent like wrestlers they've let go like magnus . and what i hate more than anything else is the part time appearances every now and then from crimson/matt morgan. the wrestling itself inside the 6 sided ring has so many clear blunders showing it's fake. the best i've seen tna was last year when it aired in scotland....huge crowd of about 5000 and they don't stop chanting. also what happened to all their PPV's airing on Sundays? find that strange too
