    He is an Irish citizen.

  2. Yesterday, Girvan said the bombs were sent by Celtic fans.

Today, Frank says the bombs didn't exist.

    Usual blue gibberish.

McBride was on Newsnight last night saying what Stereo said above - the religious aspect could simply have been dropped from the charge and its inclusion has no bearing on being charged with assault alone.

The crusade from the sellic support to label pretty much everything against them as "anti-Irish racism" or sectarianism. The burning desire to be a persecuted minority, and the desperation everywhere you look to label Lenny's attacker as a religious bigot.

Did you listen to Radio Clyde last night? <laugh> I tuned in, just for the laugh. Apparently they only talk about football issues, last night must have been a special edition <fannies>

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Lennon

Date of birth 25 June 1971 (age 40)
Place of birth Lurgan, Northern Ireland
    Height 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m)

    Northern Ireland = British.

You'd think the celtc support would despise a 40 year old, skinheaded, British, bigoted, midget.

I am just guessing here but as as aggravated assault is a charge on its own, you have to prove the aggravated part of it, with a breach, you only have to prove that people can be alarmed, disturbed or annoyed by it.

it is the birthright of all the people of Northern Ireland to identify themselves and be accepted as Irish or British, or both, as they may so choose, and accordingly [the two governments] confirm that their right to hold both British and Irish citizenship is accepted by both Governments and would not be affected by any future change in the status of Northern Ireland.

As a result of the Agreement, the Constitution of Ireland[36] was amended so that people born in Northern Ireland are entitled to be Irish citizens on the same basis as people from any other part of the island of Ireland.

I never said they didnt exist, just that they didnt work. Therefore the "bombers" are ****e criminals. Its still to be proven in a court of law exactly what happened, so I'll wait and see with this one <ok>

As for your ****y wee QC, what a complete erse he's made himself out to be <doh> Wilson even plead guilty to breach of the peace but the desperation to get the sectarian part added on failed spectacularly <laugh>

At least our sectarian QC had a moustache <ok>

So you made it up and are suggesting that the Celtic support control the procurator fiscals office. <laugh>

    No

Neil Lennon is an Irish citizen, you are not. Therefore, Neil Lennon is more Irish than you are. Correct?

except you just told us he wasn't born in Britain.....

  11. Frank, every single thing I've seen you assert on here (the Billy Boys was about killing "Irish terrorists", the orange order can marry catholics etc) has been wrong.

If you are born in Northern Ireland you are entitled to Irish Citizenship, ya spoon.

Northern Ireland is in the UK but not Great Britain

So now, if you make a bomb and it fails to go off, you'll get a not proven for "lack of evidence as the bombs didn't exist".

How the **** do you tie your shoelaces in the morning?

One last thing, the predictable glee that the huns are showing over this speaks volumes - cretins.

He was charged with Breach of the peace "aggravated by religious prejudice" and Assault "aggravated by religious prejudice".

No blame lies with the prosecution whatsover unless you think Wilson was totally innocent of ALL the charges.

The Jury - in their wisdom - decided that he was gulity of breach, and they were allowed to delete or throw out the religious element of the charge. They could have (and should have) found him guilty of assault and deleted the religious element as they did on the breach charge.

This is not open to debate, it's Scots Law. <ok>

  13. Do the defence get to choose the jury (like in the USA) in Scotland?

McBride stated on Newsnight that Jury members in England and Wales can be excluded on the basis of existing prejudice but not in Scots law and he asked for that to be changed - was he inferring something about this particular case or just making a parallel legal comment?

    Assault Under Scots Law

Offence: To direct an attack to take effect physically on the person of another, whether or not actual injury is inflicted.

    Notes:
There must be criminal intent, an accidental injury does not amount to assault. It is not however
necessary that the attack should take effect. An assault can be direct or indirect, e.g. setting a
dog at another person. It is also assault to be violently menacing. Threatening gestures inducing a
state of bodily fear are an example.

An assault may be aggravated by intent; mode of perpetration (e.g. use of a weapon), extent of
injury, place of assault, or the character of the person assaulted (e.g. a pregnant woman). Indecent
assault is an assault accompanied by indecent intent. In certain cases an assault may be justified
by showing that it was done under the authority of the law; in defence of others or in self-defence.

No. They choose 30 people, their names go into a bowl and fifteen are picked out at random.

I had the joy of being on the jury of an attempted murder trial a few years back.

  17. You're missing out UEFA, the SNP, the "mhedia" and some shadowy figures that decide what people are charged with within the advocacy <laugh>

Honestly, all of the above have been mentioned on the Huns' board THIS MORNING - not over the course of a week, this morning - the morning after a man was acquitted of attacking the Celtic manager on live TV in a football stadium.

    I think they're getting sillier.

they could throw it out on Botp as the charge is Botp, the aggravated part is incidental, but the aggravated part of the assault is the actual charge so do not have the facility to jettison that aspect of the charge. Is that right?

I agree 100% it is the prosecution at fault. An unnecessary risk to take with a piss easy prosecution.

I despair with the law in this country I really do.

Not just because it was Neil Lennon's attacker who got off, it could have been any member of Joe Public who was assaulted but this jury has been shown to be living in cloud cuckoo land with a decision which defies belief. It is simply staggering and the implications could be far reaching. I expect the PF to appeal the decision and I suspect this will not be the last we hear on this case.

Not true Reb, Paul McBride said last night that the Jury could have dismissed the Sectarian element and just found him guilty of assault same as the Breach charge.

It is simply a scandal that they did not and only the jury members know why.
