Strikers

Ok I know your thinking another striker article and i'm as disappointed as any that we didn't sign one but remember since Andy Carroll played his last game we haven't had one and our striking options have improved since the end of last year. Last year we had both Ameobis, Lovenkrands, Ranger and Best was injured.

Now we have Best, Ba, Shameobi, Sameobi, Lovenkrands, Ranger and could play Obertan there. I feel when Benny is back that Pardew may use Obertan as a striker and I feel he could play there. Lets just hope Beattie or Diouf don't come in on a free.

Oh excellent, we now have 6 incompetent strikers whereas we only had 4 before lol!

In fairness. Ba could deliver more than we've seen so far, but Best, Shola and Lovenkrands have proved they just aren't good enough, so even if Sameobi or heaven forbid Snoop Dogg Ranger himself aren't up to it yet, just play them, at least they are young enough to develop!

 

If we can keep Best and Ba fit we will be fine. Both are capable of hitting double figures this year.

 

Best can finish and is capable of scoring, its just the rest of the game he is awful and strays offside

How on earth has Best proven he is not good enough? I am fed up of people saying this! When ever he actually gets the chance he scores goals, what more do you want from a striker?

 

At the very least I agree with this guy. Problem is, it seems Best can only get into the side when Ameobi's injured. -.-

You feel that 27 goals in his last 130 odd starts (90+ of those in teh Championship) is a quality return do you? Take off last years hat-trick and two versus Fulham and his return for us is appalling. His finishing is weak, his movement is non-bloody existent and his only true skill is his ability to be caught offside on almost every occasion he does somehow miraculously find himself in space!

Sammy Ameobi has great potential so therefore isn't sh1t
Shola is just Shola - have more respect
Lover is sh1t .. and so is Ranger ..

So I'll give you 2 out of the 6

Whilst it's not ideal, if we can get them both fit and firing, Best and Ba are good enough for a mid-table Premier League team. I think Best and Ben Arfa could link up quite well and we have other players in our side that can score goals, ie. Cabaye, Jonas, S. Taylor, Colo. Yes, we did need a striker, but we also needed a striker in January and if it weren't for a second half horror show against West Brom, we wouldve had a top half finish.

when did best prove he isn't good enough??? think he has done himself justice whenever he has played and i'm pretty sure his premier league goalscoring record for the limited number he has played is impressive!!!
