we seem to be going ok now. It has taken so long to get going, I have forgotten the name of our left back. Sammy stays.
Was hoping some English club would **** up and put in a bid for Sammy so we could get in another one but if he's not getting many games he could be off January & we can get someone else in. Leftback wise, never heard of him. 30 caps for his country sounds decent but I notice from wiki he has played 100 games the last 9 years, either had a long term injuryor an average player. No gamble though, Mulgrew, Wilson, Cha, Ledley can all play there if he's **** & its only till January.
Rangers turned down £9m bid for Jelavic.....apparently. Of all the rumours, bids flying about on SSN that the was the only one with an 'un-named club' attributed to it. Bit of a PR stunt by the huns to stop the fans asking about the warchest and be happy they kept their star striker?
Seen on the beeb they reckon Liverpool tried to buy him - so might have been them? But it was good timimg by Rangers to distract from lack of players coming in However i see that Diouf was released - whats the bets that **** ends up back at the huns?
The daily record is saying McCoist will not be offering Diouf a deal. Wouldn't have thought Liverpool would have been after another striker, although they did get the Meireles money in last minute.
Are rangers not currently paying up jelevics original transfer fee in instalments If they sold him for a more believable amount of 5m they would only see a fifth of that amount His old club may also have a sell on clause that could reduce it further Selling him to break even isn't worth it Just a theory
I don't know about payments or sell on clauses, but most transfers now are paid in installments. Rangers will be banking on Jelavic having a good season and then selling him for £10+ million next summer. Maybe even in January teams will be desperate and pay over the odds for him. I think at the Old Firm we need to be realistic. I would be disappointed if Jelavic does leave, but I know he will probably not be at Rangers next season. It's the way we need to operate, get a good player in and then sell him for a profit a few years down the line. It will be the same for Celtic, I expect Hooper will be away next summer if he has another good season, but Celtic will make a decent profit on him.
Jelavic could score 40 goals this season but nobody will bid over £10 million for an SPL player which is why I think either the bid last night was complete fabrication or there was no real substance to it, neither OF team can turn down £9m pound bids.
