He got 'booked' at half time for complaining to Anthony Taylor re: the stonewall Kane penalty decision. I think they call it a level one warning, new rule this season. 3 more and he gets a one match ban.

Just watched the match in full again. Toby was absolutely superb, but Coco when he came on was like a man possessed.

Meltdown? Nah mate. That was Pochettino at his best in my opinion. Press trying to make a soap opera plot based on who and what they see on the pitch. He just cut the crap out of all of it.

    In Poch I trust.

Especially when it was after what was the closest things I've seen to a Pochettino game management masterclass which he is not always expected to produce.

I'm so glad he went three at the back with that personnel (especially as we are light in the CM position), and full on attack. If we were clinical it would been a rout, and we already know that our defensive line can be the best in the league with that personnel make-up, if they are at their best.

If we have a positive result against Man U, big ask I know, it could turn the heads of a few naysayers, especially any in the squad who are thinking about leaving.

Lamela is going to be such an important player for us this season. For me he epitomises Pochettino fight and philosophy on the pitch. Tenacious. Focused. Loyal. Committed. Doesn't whine when he starts on the bench. Love it.

I can live with my club having a manager who gets hostile with
the hacks one every 100 times, rather than one who does it
    90 every 100 times.

Interesting to see Pochettino being annoyed about the
lack of clinical finishing given the chances that were there.

Hopefully he is now resolved to find ways of 'motivating'
    the squad to rectify this.

  8. Thought Lucas showed that he had bought into that philosophy yesterday. Ran and chased all game. Having those two flying around the opposition like a couple of angry wasps will be a delight! <laugh>

Yesterday was tailor made for Sonny. He'd have had a field day but Lucas brought a real urgency, which unfortunately wasn't replicated by some of the World Cup returnees. We've got to hope that their fitness has increased significantly for the United game or it could be a tough ask. Dele and Super Jan looked uncharacteristically sluggish in the second half and Eric Dier throughout. HK continues to look less than 70% of his former self.

However, having real some quality in the squad and being able to bring on Mousa and Coco changed the dynamic. Let's hope that we have a better run of luck with injuries this time round. Buying Grealish and Zaha or similar would have guaranteed it but we are left to hope now. If Mousa was injured, we'd possibly have brought on Sissoko, which is a no-no unless we're ahead and trying to close a game out.

If we're serious about competing this season, we cannot afford to lose anyone outside of GKN, taking into account that Vinnie is injured and we're stuck with his huge arse for now. I'd have wanted Josh Onomah to go out on loan again but unless we're going to have Skippy as back-up, even he might have to stay until January whilst Big Vic and Winksy prove their fitness.

Maureen screams about City having no class ...whines about how money can buy titles...but can't buy class

    He spent (approx)
€303m in 3 years at Chelsea from 2004 to 2007
€160m in 18 month at Inter from 2008 to 2010
€180m in 3 yrs at RM from 2010 to 2013
    €355m in 2.5 yrs at Chelsea 2013 to 2015
€429 In 2 years (so far) at united from 2016 to present.

That makes €1427 in 12 years and he is the most classless twat in world football.

and you come awumming about Pochettino <laugh>

That was certainly a better performance than the Newcastle game, but I still feel that we've got a lot to work on.
The system worked fairly well in the first half, though we were over-reliant on getting the ball to Trippier.
His crossing was far from perfect, but the number of times that he hit the near post with balls and nobody made a run there was ridiculous.

Anthony Taylor didn't have a lot to do, as both sides were pretty clean and there weren't any flash points.
I do have to wonder what we have to do to get a penalty at Wembley, though. It doesn't look like it's going to happen.

The start of the second half was appalling, as Fulham came out and attacked and we seemed to go into a shell.
Their equaliser was definitely coming and the defending for it was really poor.
Hopefully it's just a little World Cup fatigue for our defensive players, as we've come to expect better.

The Dembele sub and tactical switch put us right and Fulham just couldn't handle it after that.
Some great finishes for our goals and it could easily have been more, as the visitors collapsed a bit towards the end.
I didn't think it was going to happen after Kane hit the bar, but I should expect him to keep burying every stat that he comes up against.

Moura was our best player and he showed the desire and ability to give Son something to worry about when he gets back.
We need competition for places and if he can keep playing like that, then we've definitely got it in at least one position.
On the other end of the scale, Dier's England form was on display and I don't think that it's a coincidence that our system was the same.
He suits the 4-2-3-1 down to the ground, but a three man defence requires a more forward looking midfielder.

Final mention goes to the transport around the ground, which was ****ing terrible.
There seemed to be no compensation for Euston being closed or whatever excuse was going around and it took ages to get back.
The increased prices for tickets and drinks was a bit of a piss take, too.

I leave via Wembley Stadium Station, which is normally much faster than Wembley Park. Not yesterday. We left on the final whistle and queued for over half an hour, during which time there wasn't a single train. When one turned up, we managed to get on it and it left with half the seats empty, despite there being a huge queue behind us of people becoming very pissed off at the complete farce unfolding. Putting up a bloke with zero customer service skills to run it wasn't helping much either.

Pitching up to find there was no tube service out of Marylebone didn't help the mood either. An utter and complete shambles.

I forgot to mention Christian Eriksen who had just about the worst game I've seen from him. I hope he's not going through the same issues that he had when he signed his last new contract. That threw him out of form for months. We cannot afford to have that happen again this season as there look to be 5 sides who are going for the Top 4 spots before we even consider a title challenge.

Agree with a lot of this. One slight gripe from me (I was sat right down by where the subs were warming up, so Davies was hugging my touchline most of the first half) was that we didn't use Davies as much, Dele and others were constantly ignoring him short in space and looking for the cross field switch to Trippier. His end product is usually excellent so I can see why but a bit more variety might have yielded results too.

Fulham started much better in second half, I thought Seri came into the game well and showed flashes of why some of the top clubs were looking at him. Dier has looked off his game for a while and I thought big Vic wasn't as convincing last season too, so Poch might have a bit of a selection issue if neither of them can get fully fit and find their form, but I'm sure one of them will.

Agree with what a lot of others are saying - it was great to see Poch's subs have a really positive impact. Lamela in particular looked completely zoned in when he was warming up, you could see it in his eyes. I hope we get big things from him this season.

On the transport I didn't have too many problems, mostly last season I took the Bakerloo line so I was a bit worried about it being shut. But I got in earlier than I usually would have done, and got out via Wembley Park with minimal delays - then again I was in block 104 at the end of a row, so ideally positioned for a quick exit once the final whistle went. I think I must have just got lucky, at times last season it was ****ing dire (and I wasn't positioned as well for a quick exit).

Big test for us next Monday now, let's hope that our WC returnees can get some sharpness back with an extra day or 2 between games and we can wipe any trace of happiness remaining off the Sulky One's face.

Eriksen - and any other AM for what it's worth - won't be afforded the luxury of going through a prolonged bad patch now, with Lamela fit and Lucas impressing, no one is safe, which is exactly what we need.

I thought that he was awful until the system change and then he was back to his usual self.
It's good to be able to play three at the back and it's something that we need to work on for that reason.
There are definitely kinks that need to be worked out at the moment, though.
