Didn't see such a heavy defeat coming. Tbh I knew we would struggle, but7-1!!! Promoting us as a club that bloods youngsters is wearing thin. It's hobsons bleeding choice! In my opinion this is the way to go to destroying young talent, not nurture it! Get some quality in and some experience in sharpish! But who in their right mind would join us..
I don’t blame most of the players but Lynch as a supposed leader and experienced player is a complete disgrace. McClaren has to be accountable though. Awful team selection gave us no chance and clearly no actual tactics beyond trying to play about a bit and hope we don’t concede. Ingram, bless him.
-8 goal difference and only 3 games. How many people have repeatedly said we need to replace our defensive losses? You couldn’t make up the ignorance of basic needs. A non-scoring forward line is irrelevant if we ship goals at this rate.
Leeds/roofe 3m having a feat time..when are we going to achieve something similar. DOF has had lots of time to prove worthy of role..yet to see it. Don't think matters who bring in at mo our probes run deeper. Onwards and upwards..hopefully as another week of piss taking at work coming up. At least charity cases lost somewhat helps.
I once read an essay where a study had been carried on the respective management styles of Hitler and Churchill by interviewing some that were in their staff. The upshot was that those under Adolf at first worshipped a man they thought capable of anything and thus wanted to be in his orbit to catch some of that stardust. Whereas those under Churchill were made to feel that it was they that were capable of anything. When Hitler’s “magic” ran out, there was nothing else. I wouldn’t, of course, liken any manager to Adolf, also perhaps Mourinho is of that ilk in making his players believe him to be the Special One. For many managers I believe their reputations are largely built on luck. Luck having inherited a good set of players of an intelligence that they can learn, of a skill set that they can apply, and of an attitude that they can remain positive and compete. Very few managers in my opinion have that certain ‘je ne sais pas’ that shows them consistently achieving where others have failed and delivering with average players. I don’t believe McClaren has this at all. He neither makes the players feel like winners nor appears a winner to them. It’s the QPR way since Fernandes first squeezed through the turnstiles at HQ.
Hardly going to come on and score a bloody hatrick is he? Just cos you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.
Chelsea have thrown away a two goal lead before halftime, at least that have cheared me up. Hope Arsenal can complete the turnaround.
Serious answer, Hair Island, but it’s on character grounds rather than any belief that he will do any better in this league than Colin, in fact he probably won’t, Warnock is very good at getting results at this level. I’ve no idea what kind of person McClaren is, but 90 minutes sitting within earshot of Warnock during a game have given me an enduring dislike of the obnoxious twat.
I'll be there on Tuesday. I'll bring anti-depressives Look on the bright side - we have an exciting relegation battle season ahead of us.
SM post match - “We need help and we’re working tirelessly behind the scenes to do that. After that collapse we certainly need to look at things again” Fingers crossed!!
No one supports the Rangers for the glory, we are all a bunch of aging masochists who were feted to be born/brought up/affiliated to a Bermuda Triangle of hope in west London I don't know, sometimes on days like this after a 7-1 caning at the hands of the opposition over whom we gloat from our 51 year zenith, i question my sanity As my lad says frequently 'but why QPR dad, they make you miserable. A lot' Somehow in my rapidly aging brain, i hypothesized and I really thought S&M would bring some tactical nous and cunning intricate counter attacking footy. But then i am, like Stan a hopeless romantic where QPR are concerned and I always forget the 1st Rule of Rangers Club - expect nothing Rule 2- expect less than nothing We battle on mostly in a downward trajectory Thank you secret chelsea agent Fernandes, mission accomplished
I have to ask how much we've actually weakened the team. Smithies was sold with two supposedly decent replacements waiting in the wings. Not as good but replaced (of sorts). Robinson and Onuoha went. Both very good and experienced but both prone to injuries (neither managed 30 league games last season). Replaced by BFG2 (note BFG1 has done as much for our Summer recruitment as anyone in the employ of the club). That's it. Ollie had a very similar group achieving a lot more is basically my point.
