So it is the EU that wishes to leave the UK now is it? Total nonsense! You and your government have created the problem and have no answer except to carry on preparing for a state of emergency, that you now admit they are doing.

The government are just sensibly preparing for all eventualities whilst you remain in a state of constant panic. I'm sure all of your fuss will be in vain and your life will just carry on the same after Brexit.

I cannot imagine how you ever ran a business.

I am not the one who is being told that I should be prepared for a state of emergency.

Back to form again SH? You do not wish to talk about the chaos that you are promoting, so back to attacking people. I am sure that we have seen it all before. Sad.

I'm not attacking at all just trying to work out why you possess so much negativity.

And I wonder why you refuse to face the facts of what your government is proposing. You don't agree with the way that the talks are going, but where is the plan that you do agree with. If you could spell it out then people could examine and question it, but you don't. Give us a plan and provide proper answers when you are challenged, but just trying to blame others doesn't hold water anymore.

  8. I think the plan is to have access to the single market without abiding by the rules, not paying into the budget and not taking in any EU migrants. I'm horrified that the selfish EU hasn't agreed to it to be honest with you.

I'm sure I have already informed you of the sensible alternative due out next month from the ERG group? If you keep forgetting I have attached further information. You will just have to wait for it.

Most people accept the EU will play hardball to try to deter others who wish to also dash for freedom once they see Brexit a success.

Tory Brexiteers drawing up alternative plan to 'rival Theresa May's ...

You will find that our lives will end after Brexit SH. Every one of us has a passport which establishes us as citizens of the EU. This will disappear after Brexit has happened, and about 1.7 million Britons living in the EU. will no longer have that status - you are taking the 'European Union' out of my passport - against my will, and without me having been asked about the matter. Can citizenship be reduced in this way ? Very sad to see the dramatic rise in numbers of people applying for foreign passports at the moment - never have so many people wanted to not be British - all very sad.

  11. I was on a course the other day - of 16 participants four said they were seeking Irish citizenship. I wasn't actually one of them! I have been tempted to get the passport but will wait and see how things pan out first.

As I am sure you know the article you referred to gives no information about an alternative plan. Surely you are not waiting for this document to have your position stated for you.

I am a retired businessman not a government employee, so plead not guilty M'lud.

The decision to hold a referendum was taken by parliament with an overwhelming majority. The majority of those eligible and active voters chose Brexit, it is the UK's chosen form of democracy.

Those who seek other nation passports do not want to renounce their UK citizenship, they are just adding flexibility (like my Brexit voting Brother in law who has gained an Irish passport. So have his two daughters, one lives in Germany, married to a German)

Yes my position is clear, so I don't have to provide answers to the hundreds of questions that leaving throws up. You however promote leaving, but when questioned by others don't seem to have thought it through. You must be able to put together a plan of your own by now after all this time otherwise there is no point in trying to debate it.

  16. Nice - vote to deprive others of a privilege they can still have through personal circumstances. How very conservative...

Individuals having their own plans is not workable surprisingly, The whole nation is government by the negotiating position deemed the best by the government of the day. Naturally there is a wide range of positions available from your chosen extreme totally timid surrender to those in the ERG Group which are battling to secure a decent outcome.

This is not true SH. Recognition of dual nationality is not uniform throughout the EU. Germany, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Norway and the Netherlands only recognize dual nationality with other EU. states - the result is that anyone wanting to become German, Dutch or Spanish has to do it quickly. Anyone doing it after Brexit will have to give up British nationality first.

It is true. My brother in law owns a couple of hotels in France as part of his business. I presume he obtained an Irish passport to have the safeguard of using a UK or an EU one when required. He has no intention of living in France, just visa free travel.
