    Does anyone feel the whole time we said we were after an LB and ST what was really going on was Pardew gauging what we needed more because the FCB had already told him we'd have one or the other? Not saying this is true but just a thought that this whole time of us being lied to was because Mike/Derek only provided enough funds for one or the other!

    Possibly!!

    I think the Ruiz bid was made to try and appease us. MA knowing if he offered Ruiz a ****y deal he would knock us back for Fulham but the Club could come out and say "we matched the offer which was £10m so the money was there"

    Also we bid say £4m for a player worth £7m and then release a statement saying we won't be held ransom and that were searching for the right player !!
