We have had an AMAZING transfer window!!!

We have signed class players for peanuts and offloaded one overrated attention seeker and one fat lump.

marveux - gonna be mint, rapid, young
obertan - young, RAPID, with time will be good
caybe - class, committed, just needs a bit longer to settle
elliot - some nobody who wont get a game and might end up being decent
abeid - young, looks very good
ba - great striker, he will get loads of goals this season
santon - only 20 and 7 italian caps...

Thats good enough in my eyes. We should just chill out and enjoy the season jeesh, as long as shola doesnt play were hunky dory. Sammi looks great already, best is solid and ba will blow us away when he gets going.

We have a solid defence, great youth like vuckic, ferg, gosling, kadar, tavernier, etc

As long as shola doesnt get games and ben arfa excells when back we will be just fine.

Chill out and stop moaning its the best squad weve had in at least 5 years

You've decided to miss out the point that you haven't replaced your £35 million striker (top scorers, you may want to call them) with anyone of similar quality, which I think is the main reason why people are calling the transfer window a failure.

Though I have to agree, you have got yourself with some pretty decent players over the last couple of months, so I'm sure you'll do fine <ok>

As a neutral, where do you think we will finish in the table?

Well, I suppose if you look at the players we've brought in, ignore the fact that we also let Barton, Nolan and Enrique go, remain blissfully unaware of the broken promise of bringing in another striker, the broken promise of investing ALL of our £35 million in players when in reality we made another tidy profit of 600K, not investing ANY of it, the fact that we have no central defensive cover, the fact that we have bought one striker on a free since January and noone else, then YES, I suppose it's been a great window... Maybe some people would be happy with midtable mediocrity, but if we had gambled and invested in some quality... who knows? We might have had a healthy, top half finish.

At this moment, Ashley is demolishing the famous East Stand sign, to replace it with another advert for his cheapskate company. He has no interest in taking this club forward if it doesn't involve him making a tidy profit along the way. It isn't all doom and gloom, we aren't relegation candidates by any means, but after all the excitement and promises, to have them thrown back in the fans face is absolutely disgraceful.

    Broken promises, pure and simple.

I wouldn't say the window has been amazing. I am extremely dissapointed by the fact that we have not been able to get another striker in. Overall with the window, I am content. We have added quality, but we have lost it also.

Your title is going a bit too far. It has NOT been a good window. How many times have we heard "we're gonna bring in three or four more" becomes "two or three more" and ends up as ONLY ONE MORE. We've been told to JUDGE the WINDOW when it closes and JUDGEMENT DAY has arrived. You are telling me leaving it till the last day when you've had all window flush with your 35 million cash that the club hasn't found ANYBODY they wanted? That they ONLY DECIDED to bid for bryan ruiz somebody whom another club's transfer bid was ALREADY ACCEPTED? Please don't tell us fans out there who're sick to the teeth that we disgust you. We're more disgusted with the board by a mile.

Absolute bollocks Pyth we are a freekin joke in this window the no. 9 is iconic and we have been given lies and false promises of getting someone to fill it. If we were offering nearly 11 mill to hijack the Fulham signing we could have used it a lot earlier to get someone in. Come the African cup what then more lies telling us that we will buy in the January window. We have got the worst strikeforce ( certainly the bottom 3/4) in the Premiership. Thanks Ashley you tw@t

Newcastle have been very fortunate so far this season. Just wait until the solids hit the extractor fan, however, and we get a few hammerings. The drugs you must undoubtedly be taking to make you say we are 'a stronger squad' this season will be of little benefit to you then.

Not only have we no chance of finishing high up the table; I fear we are not even competing among the also rans. Expect a relegation battle with our woefully thin squad.

The Emperor is indeed naked, but it appears some people can't or refuse to see it.

BS if you honestly think that Shola, Best and Ba are going to score the goals we need to stay up you are deluded.

Pardew knew we needed a striker and a LB , ok we have a LB, we will probably get the striker in January when we are in the ****.

Ashley wants a striker on the cheap and that wont happen.

Agree with Frank we will not better our position from last season 17th is more likely our aim with more lies about strengthening for the following season. Ashley has absolutely no ambition in taking the club forward to a top ten finish .

We replaced someone we sold for £35million for someone (Ba) we got for free. He has a better career goalscoring record than Carroll and done as well if not better last season in the worst team in the league!!!

Well from what I've seen so far this season Ba has looked real quality as has Shola, Best and Lovenkrands so for the life of me I can't think why we need another striker.

Damn, I've caught that delusional virus that's going around.

The reason people call us deluded is because we have unrealistic transfer targets. There were people on here disappointed that we didn't make a bid for that left-back who went to Arsenal, Adam Johnson, and Lukaku. <doh>

Calling it a bad window is just being sensible fans. It's not been a great window because we were promised a striker and reinvestment of the Carroll money and in case you hadn't noticed we've got neither. In fact if you add the Nolan and Enrique money we could have signed two players by my reckoning.

Yes, we can sign someone in January, but are you really looking forward to playing half the season with Shola as first choice?
