If you were on that Genova bridge project, then at least written record that you gave your concerns/objections, and perhaps did not work on that part of the bridge from then on.
According to Margaret Hodge there's a fine line between being pro-Palestine and being anti-semitic. Congratulations, Margaret, by saying the stupidest ****ing thing imaginable you've not only shown up this Labour anti-semitism story for the gibberish that it is, but you've done a damn fine job of showing that the version of anti-semitism Netanyahu wants to impose on the world is borderline Islamophobic. Bravo!
I'm neither pro-Palestine nor antisemitic. I'm anti-****. Act like one and I won't be a fan. Israel keep doing ****ty things to Palestine. Some Palestinians do ****ty things back. It's fine to criticise both for their actions. It's not fine to do it because they're Jews or Muslims. This **** really isn't hard.
Thanks for posting that, HBIC! In this world of fake news and bigotry, the eloquence of this wonderful post is a breath of fresh air!
Just in case you were thinking that May’s puppet string holders, those paragons of consensual, liberal thinking the DUP were losing their profile...... https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/...irish-government-to-popes-visit-37226554.html Huge opportunity to build cross-denominational and political bridges given the finger.

Sentences I read today... This afternoon, The Satanic Temple held a rally outside the Arkansas State Capitol building alongside a giant statue of Baphomet. They want to install it there permanently, just as State Sen. Jason Rapert did with his Ten Commandments monument. please log in to view this image

G4S fails at HMP Birmingham, I await to hear what the penalties will be for breaking it's contract. I would also be interested to hear if they can get a prison to the state it was in and not break a contract. In any case it's yet another example of privatising profit and passing losses on to the rest of us. Also another example of how their is a logical flaw in private firms running prisons (and many other services) in that the better they do their job at running the service, the more it costs and the less profit they make. There is absolutely no incentive to do a good job! There is some merit in competition, but there are too many private monopolies around that have effectively been created by the state - it's not as if there are two prisons in Birmingham competing to be the best. Edit: just found this, funny that I didn't hear it mentioned once yesterday. I was just reminding myself that it was G4S that buggered up the Olympics security contract: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20252359 It basically says that G4S lost the contract on HMP Wolds due to stuff that sounds suspiciously like what we heard yesterday - when it was also reported that there were no similar problems at other G4S prisons.
Not a particular fan of JK Rowling, but this is a decent riposte to what, even by his standards, is exceptionally juvenile Trump tweet.
