He picks the best combination of players he has at his disposal for any game. Its true that when the new boys are as fit as he wants and have had more time to understand what is expected he may start them... but we don’t know that.

Baker hasn’t done himself any harm... Harrison looks to have something and to my mind alioski is the likely weak link in the current first team... but he’s started the season pretty well to be fair.

Re the keepers. There’s an assumption in some quarters that Blackman was brought in as no 1. But they gave bpf the no 1 shirt. There are people who seem to be ready to leap on any error bpf makes but brush any mistakes from Blackman under the carpet. His error against Bolton was at least as bad as bpf’s against derby. In any case, i get the feeling bielsa would probably favour the one who’s handling and distribution is better, and I personally haven’t seen enough of Blackman to have formed a view on that.

He’s a god when he picks players you like, and an idiot when he picks players you don’t Like... same as every other manager

Many a true word spoken. :emoticon-0148-yes: Personally I don't care who he picks as long as we win also don't care how many goals we let in as long as it's at least 1 less than we score.

Pretty much my philosophy too fella!

One of the more pleasing things for me is that we don’t seem to shut up shop when we’re ahead. I’m sure it will cost us some points in the future and the critics will be out but I like the fact we don’t do what we’ve done for years... and England did in the World Cup... which is make defensive changes and sit back and invite pressure. It annoys the **** out of me... so another bonus point for MB from this poster

Nah... he’s lucky when he picks players who win... unless you like them. Call yourself a fan?!

Bit like monk kept picking Chris wood when it was obvious his goals were all mishit deflections from offside positions.

Ditto with bells on. Would rather throw the kitchen sink at everything for 90 minutes and lose than score early and pansy about and still lose. IBWT

Seven different goal scorers in three games, love it.

Be interesting to see how we cope with Rotherham throwing everything at us at the weekend <whistle>

When asked if he’d miss the bucket bielsa (after some debate with the translator) replied... ‘i’ll miss the bucket but if the team wins it will pail into insignificance’

I’m intrigued by Rotherham. Expectations are up, it’s a derby, last year we coped with footballing sides better than the lump it teams. Be interesting to see how the bielsa way gets those same players... who were bullied by the physical teams last year, Millwall etc... to perform.
