Haven't been around much as can't get on the site! Frustrating on a night like this. I'm happy with the Bellamy signing he will provide cover up front and on the left. Mereiles leaving is a bit strange as he's a quality player but at 29 or 28 if we have a good fee then good luck to him. A mix of youth and experience is needed but we already have that in midfield so I understand getting a fee for Raul.
Torres, Benayoun and now Raul, Chelsea can't top signing our players. When I saw 'Degen leaves Reds' on the LFC site I thought they'd lured him away too. (I wish).

I knew it since Pre-season, from the interview where they asked if he was leaving and he said, " No chance" ...... but with a huge smirky laugh attached to it. Also, when word got out he was not happy with promises from the old regime not being fulfilled I figured he was gone, just thought we would have held on to Aqua. Hopefully one of their players is coming this way or we got someone in and it has not been announced as that is a creative spark we just lost, granted we gained bellamy. But.......If you don't want to be here, then go, thanks for the year you gave us, but we got our money back plus some, so f*** off.....
Two fantastic midfielders gone this summer! Got some good players in- but I'm a little confused- did Raul really go for only 12mill? That seems a criminal loss. Hope he works out as well for them as Torres and Bennayoun did!
I hope he enjoys the bench, who is he getting in over? Lampard? Ramires who they just shelled out for? DM for Mikel? Ahh well, thats 16 mil for anything we might need in January I suppose...
At the end of the day we had too many midfielders and with Raul closing in on 30 it made sense to recoup what we paid. He is a good player but in 2 years time he will not be the same player. The deal makes sense for us but not a long term investment for Chelsea.
It was a business decision by Liverpool and it was well within the FSG policy. Meireles is no longer needed by Liverpool, He is not english, he is nearing 30 and he has reached his maximum value (there is no way Chelsea can sell him at a profit next season, even if he has a stormer) so I'm not fussed at all by the transfer and I wish him well for the future... Even if he does look as though he has aids :-D

He wouldn't have been starting when Gerrard was back anyway. No doubt people will be calling us bitter, jealous etc for stating that Meireles wouldn't be starting for us.
You are right he would not be in the ideal first 11 but he would have been great to have on the bench and as cover for injuries, and lets be honest that's all he will do at chelsea.
