The Kronenbourg over there is very nice compared to the made in UK crap we have over here. They also do a light version that is very drinkable. Bottles wise Pelforth range is very good.

They sometimes have a beer called 33 on tap as well and that's pretty good.

Can you bring me back some proper corn dogs?

About ten years ago I used to work with a lady whose son lived in the states. Bless her every year she would bring me back a box of corn dogs and a box of twinkies.

A corn dog is a sausage on a stick that has been coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter and deep fried.

Sounds like it might be nice with a beer.

Oh mate. You will love them. It’s a bratwurst type sausage with a corn crust round it deep fried. You may find one with cheese in the sausage too. They used to sell them at Alton towers years ago. Was the main highlight of going. **** the rides I want to eat as many corn dogs as I could.

My concern about going to NY is the beer, I really don't like Budweiser or Miller Light but love their good beers like Brooklyn Lager and Sierra Nevada.

Can you get good beers in bars there?

When you going luv? I’d like a long weekend in NY. Just hate flying. Also I’d probably rather go to Chicago.

Have a very loose plan to have a proper trip to the states in the next 3 years. I want 3 weeks there and drive from Atlanta to San Francisco. Dipping down into various other states. Some friends just did a smaller version of the trip. Stayed in motels and a few Airbnb .

Used to go regularly years ago . My Cousins had 2 lap dancing clubs ( Rockford Illinos , one has closed now ) , free beer for me all the time because of my accent . Heinken export was the only realish lager I tasted .

    Pabst , oldstyle , Coors , etc …. YUCK !

My cousins say Ales are available now , but not a clue what ones .

I really do hate the standard US beers so hopefully there are some good craft beers about out there.

If it’s NYC, you can get pretty much any beer you want.

I understand there are dozens of craft beer companies in the area too.

Those beers are there but if you go in the pubs and bars the beer and ales there are very good indeed.

No need to drink the commercial piss at all.

As Luv says, Pelforth is really nice.

The local 1664 is worth drinking though, not as nasty as the draught stuff here.
