Good spot. No he didn't but he was there when Freeman and Wzolek did which is as close as our strikers get to form. (tries to dig himself frantically it of hole)
I believe SM will pick a settler side We got used to experiment Also bar injuries the side picks itself imo
-----------------------------------------Lumley--------------------------------------- Angel---------------------BFG------------------Babtiste-----------------Bidwel ------------------------------Scowan------------Luongo--------------------------- Wszolek--------------------------------Eze------------------------------Freeman ------------------------------------Washington--------------------------------------
I like 2 holding players, especially away from home, as long as they are not in a defensive only frame of mind. I wish Don Masson was available, we need someone with a bit of vision from deep.
Christ mate, you do like to antagonise eh? For me, to get the best out of Eze, we need two holding so that he can be free. If it's Scowan and Luongo, the latter would have more licence to move forward, but mainly they'd both be holding (which our back 4 desperately needs imo!!) If Luongo isn't disciplined enough to stay, it may be Cousins, although Luongo is a far better player than him. If you're happy with just one holding, which is what we've played so far (not sure about Tues night) and think that gives the back 4 enough cover, whilst relying on Eze to work back from the left, then I simply disagree.
I want Eze as number 10 too. This is what I posted earlier.... ---------------Ingram------------------- Kakay------Leistner------Lynch------Bidwell Wszolek ---Scowen--- Luongo---Freeman ----------- Eze------------------------------------- --------------Washington------------------------- Doesn't that do the job?
With the pace in that back four 2 holding players is a minimum......Rangel’s wily experience will be fully needed to offset Kakay’s youthful pace. That’s a close call, but I think we need the back line calming down. And if Eze gets a genuinely free role as a result, bring it on.
Would you allow one or other of your holding players to get forward at all when we are in possession, or are they both confined to their own half?
As I said to Col’s original post they have to be allowed to go forward, hopefully sensibly. Takes time to build up the understanding and Scowen and Luongo have played in a bewildering number of systems. Possibly 29of them. Either should be able to go forward if they both understand the job.
I like the shape and Baptiste for Lynch, but I think Freeman is better in the middle and Eze left for now, but interchanging as they do. Think Sylla is a better bet than Washington, he's more likely to score, holds a bit better and he's more mobile than Smith.
Agree, if Freeman and Eze are part of a three, it doesn't really matter where they start as they can interchange.
I think Lumley is the better long-term prospect, but McLaren has started with Ingram, so I think he should get a fair crack at it.
