    Pat Jennings - Lovely guy.

Eamonn Holmes - Bit of a pompos prick.

Martin McGuinness - Solid as a rock.

Ian Paisley - Mad as a box of frogs but actually very nice.

I was in Sainsburys in Golders Green once and walked into the queue where Richard Madeley was getting served, and he was looking back at people queueing up with a smug as **** 'look it's me' grin all over his smarmy ****ing face. It was not long after him and his missus got done for shoplifting and I soon wiped the smile from his mush when I asked him if he was paying for it this time.

    I've only met 2 that I remember.

Ernie Wise. Chatted to him at a minor dog show. I think he liked our dog.

Barbara Windsor. Had along chat with her one Christmas outside her (then) pub at Winchmore Hill, near Amersham. She had our son on one knee and our daughter on the other. Very friendly.

Just remembered a third, Jimmy Saville. Met him on the stairs in a hotel in Gibraltar and had a brief chat.

Stayed in a hotel in Cyprus and noticed Sir Alf Ramsay sat on another table at dinner but didn't talk to him so doesn't count.

My wife was sitting in the BBC news chair literally seconds before Moira Anderson? took the seat and immediately started the 6.00 news live. Incredible experience watching that from a distance of a few feet.

I met Noel Edmonds years ago, when me and my family went on the House Party show. We were on it for a stunt, envolving my mother coming out as a christmas decoration!

I also met Coloccini, was a great bloke. He was in Knaresbrough of all places!

Terry Waite. Very nice chap. John Peel. You came away thinking that you knew him all your life, down to earth no airs or graces. Dudley Sutton, what a gentleman, considering I was blocking him in. Ruth Rendall. Have been round Bill Whymans place, but did not see him. The singer Steve Harley. Have met the snooker player Terry Griffiths.
