My company would sack me for even using hands free. Studies have shown using mobile even hands free is just as bad as being over the limit

 

So people shouldn't even talk to other people that are in the car?

tbh I find people in car more distracting than anything as some people don't ever shut up. my family know silence is golden in car.

 

Studies show speaking on a phone distracts you far more than a real person. Basically the poor quality sound from a mobile requires a lot more effort from your brain to interpret.

 

So speaking to someone whilst driving is as bad as being bladdered?

I see mobile phones every day up to ears.

 

Bit stupid, hate people using their phones while driving. Only small defence can give (and it is small) is that the car is stationary and for all we know, ignition could be off. By the time the car starts moving, he's not holding his phone.

Either way, just don't be a dick and put your phone down ffs... or get a driver

that's illegal but hardly the phone held across the face in wrong hand while changing gear and steering with his knee like I see a lot doing.

That really pisses me off, how often do you see drivers in 30/40£k cars on their phone, I have a £3k focus and paid £110 to have a hands free fitted. That said, my focus came with free indicators which seem to be an extra on expensive cars.
