Yeah, if holding a test event you would expect the basics to be there, I just can't see it being something that is unfinished though. Just because something wasn't finished last week doesn't mean it won't be finished by the first game.
Safety issue to me speaks of something more than just not finished, it could be something like unexpected congestion at an exit or any of a thousand minor things that can be easily sorted.

I was more pointing out that it doesn't seem to be an overrun really. As you say, safety issue could mean many things.

Why can't anything be built on time?

That's what happens when you hire builders whose names don't end with "...ski"

  6. When they were rebuilding Wembley there were rumours flying round that a load of Irish lads on the job had a decent bet that the 2006 Cup Final would be played in Cardiff. Personally I don't believe it but if it was true maybe they've gone in again <whistle>

It's electrical systems that have not been tested and passed

That aligns with my thinking as I’ve heard countless sparks says it won’t be ready on time.

At the risk of going a bit "uncle who works at Nintendo" my dad was working for Multiplex at the time Wembley was being rebuilt and it was widely known within the company that they were months behind schedule and there was no way they'd meet their deadline

I really should've tried my luck and put a bet on it at the bookies, all things considered...

  10. Yeah I knew a lot of lads working there and they said the same. I'm just not convinced any bookie would have taken the bet.

I've heard the the extra mature cheddar for the cheese room is only mature, it needs another 6 months before it will be ready.

UK damages have to be liquidated, i.e. Spurs will have to prove where they lost money. A few things spring to mind, about 3 Million per match gate receipts, loss of stadium sponsorship xxx million, loss of profit from catering, merchandise etc., probably a million a match. Loss of American football 2 -3 million per match. Costs for Wembley, say another million or so per match. Admin costs, policing costs at Wembley, interest on the above.

Probably no more than about £30M, so roughly a Sissoko.

If it is delayed on Heath and Safety grounds, fair play to Levy. Too often profit is put in front of safety nowadays.

And this has answered a few questions, no sponsor would want to be associated with a late stadium and Uncle Joe's boat on the Thames would have been hosting quite a few meetings.

I did have my doubts a couple of weeks ago after seeing videos of the ground there was a lot of unfinished work to be completed. It's such a shame as we were all looking forward to getting back home again and now face Wembley again for a few more games.reading between the lines it seems the nfl were aware of the delays 2 or 3 weeks ago and going along with that as has been said on here the sponsorship deal for the stadium won't be named until everything is correctly in place. It could be worse last season we never played a home game at all at least we will eventually get back to where we belong.

Is there any confirmation that you want to play there until NY?

Hope you're told no and to spend the year at Wembley if so.

I don’t mind us playing at Wembley all season. Thought we played well there and liked the Irish pub we went to, and the Caribbean restaurant round the corner.

Levy having to put something before profit? Never thought I’d see the day.
