Last night with the game tied in the 96th minute and his keeper in the opponents box for a set piece.
The keeper and the player who took a touch for no apparent reason should be shot, but fair play to Rooney. Great tackle and good ball into the box.
If I'm honest he was for a few seasons world class for United. One think he has always had is drive and work rate mixed with quality as shown again here.
He always played well against us (Chelsea). Top player who failed for England. But so did Gerrard, Beckham, Scholes etc and others. The likes of Gerrard were also poor against us compared to Roon too. Gerrard 2 goals in 36 games v Chelsea
He was a genuine great player for us. Probably stayed one season too long but was bizarrely blamed for lot of our ills by some of our fans towards the end, which was plain weird considering the problems clearly lay elsewhere. It kind of sullied his reputation with us, which is a bit of a shame to be honest. He's not thought of fondly at all.
Harry Kane? Rooney was a good player, anyone whoever called him world class it basically the Astro of english footie
Rooney was world class...scored goals from allover the pitch and every type of goal, could pick a beaut pass, lots of heart and a workhorse, won plenty too. Anyone who says otherwise is probably a mouser or some Chinese tourist who doesn't know much about football.
That's ironic, coming from a spurs fan. The only fans who think their team is so good that their are no transfers that can upgrade their team. Spurs are the only world class team that doesn't win trophies. (I know you don't really think this mate but some do )
