I'm a left-hander too. Known in Glasgow as a corry-fister, or being cack-handed. Is it just Glasgow that has odd names for our superior capability (), or are there other colloquialisms for it out there too?

Many artistic representations of Satan depict him as left-handed! The man in red is said to baptize with his left hand while the Christian church's blessings are performed with the right hand. The Latin word for "left" is "sinister," which could also go into why nuns used to force children to write with their right hands even if they were left-handed. The Boston Strangler, Jack the Ripper, and Osama Bin Laden were left-handed. Research also shows that there is a correlation between left-handed people and delinquent behavior. Maybe there is some truth to the Devil being left-handed... St. Lawrence University conducted IQ tests among right- and left-handed people. The tests results concluded that there were more left-handed people with IQs over 140 than those individuals with dominant right hands. To prove it, Benjamin Franklin and Isaac Newton were lefties!
Don't believe everything you read about IQs, btw. There are many acknowledged IQ tests, but they all have different scoring ranges. MENSA in the UK use 2 predominant tests. The pass marks are 133 & 148 respectively (if I remember correctly). What that means is that you can score 140 on both tests, but only pass on one of them! Equally, you could pass by scoring 134 on the first, but fail on the second by scoring 147. Unbelievably, the IQ score you can then use is 147 - even though it's the one you failed with. Some people are just too clever for their own good. I blame the right-handed influence in MENSA
