Not that Wijnaldum had a bad match, he was alright... Even if he wasn't clinical... But I think I'd rather Ox had started in that match.
He didn't really make many stunning passes, or any critical tackles. You could say his mere presence there changed WHU tactics... But if that is all, you could stick anyone there. Wijnaldum didn't have a bad game... A couple of wasteful attempts at goal perhaps, but nothing major. That said, he was far from critical in that game. He was mostly a passenger in that game. No scapegoats for me noone did baaad. Some players were just less outstanding than others (although that would be an interesting idea...a scapegoat of the game thread... Especially in a game when no one did badly).
the whole point of being in control in not having heros having to dive in and save the team. he retained the ball. passed it well and the miss you are talking about was after Henderson came on and he moved to no 8 and moved forward for me as ratings. becker 6 taa 6 at best Robertson 6.5 to 7. decent. vvd solid. 6.5 gomez 6 at best windy 7 Keita 8 Milner 7 mane 8 firmino 6.5 solid salah 6.5 they were far too good for west ham without getting out of 2nd gear really
I would have given Wijnaldum a 5 or 6. He was average, nothing great, nothing too bad. Certainly not as influential as Milner in my opinion. Felt TAA deserves more than you have him though. His crosses weren't very accurate which excludes him from the highest marks but he was causing a lot of problems for WHU on the right and his numerous crosses could have notched up a few assists if he were a little more clinical... Even without the clinical cross a little luck and a rebound from them could have led to a goal. He was being a nuisance to WHU, especially in the first half.

The Liverpool midfielder is expected to miss the vast majority of 2018-19 due to the multiple knee ligament damage he sustained during last season's Champions League semi-final against AS Roma at Anfield. However, during his special guest appearance on the latest edition of LFC Later, Oxlade-Chamberlain insisted he is ‘really positive’ regarding his recovery and revealed how being able to kick a ball again has lifted his spirits. “It’s going well - very boring, very slow, very long, all the good stuff! But I’m making progress, which is obviously what we need. Oxlade-Chamberlain plays in behind-closed-doors friendly Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a step closer to making his eagerly-awaited Liverpool first-team return after playing in a behind closed doors friendly at Melwood. The Reds midfielder, who has spent the past year battling back to fitness after suffering a serious knee injury, got around an hour under his belt in Tuesday's game against Bury. That's the longest Oxlade-Chamberlain has played since he was stretchered off in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Roma last April. The 25-year-old made his comeback for Liverpool Under-23s against Derby County on March 8 but was substituted after 40 minutes due to discomfort in his hamstring. That issue has since cleared up and four-and-a-half weeks on Oxlade-Chamberlain was given the green light to get more game time under his belt. After a terrible injury, he is fit again. I hope he is going to be fit till the end of the season. He is a weapon we can use when teams are difficult to break down.
He's a long way from being sharp enough to be a regular starter, but he's getting better with each appearance. If he could have the selfless mind to sit back once in a while if say Keita has already pushed up so we're not too far forward, he'd be perfect. He's the cleanest striker of the ball from any of our midfielders. The others seem to always scuff it, sky it or drag it wide. Ox hits through the ball more often than not. Some times I wish he wouldn't shoot like when there's a few minutes left in the game but it's an attacking option we didn't have last year.
