So you have no musical talent? Most talented musicians start at an early age,I'm sure many on here have kids and yes it is the dad's that should be encouraging that talent to grow, life don't just exist at the end of a bottle Luv.
I sang in a few bands, my oldest plays bass and my youngest guitar. My comment was more on the Fathers Day CD music being posted on here. #musicsnob
Havana easy versions and with the capo on the third fret, can be played without a capo but wouldn't bother trying personally with this particular song. Easy strumming version... Finger picking version... Another version...
My oldest taught himself using YouTube he came home one day and said he's playing a gig in a local pub, I pointed out he cannot play anything within 2 months he had taught himself via YouTube and played a 12 song set.
Excellent, especially if he has the balls and confidence to do a gig on the back of it. I think people tend to be more forgiving with kids, any how let them enjoy it, that's what music is about.
They played a few gigs and people started sniffing around them looking to manage them and get them signed but it didn't happen and then they split when it was time to go to Uni. Bad vid
Don't agree, music is much more progressive now with people looking at new ways to make a noise. Some good stuff back in the day but music was built around the lead guitar making a cringy solo.
There are very few musicians of quality around nowadays, which is one reason the old legends still survive today. Why their albums and concerts still sell in their millions. John Mayer is one of the few contemporary guitarists I can think of fit to stand on the same stage as the likes of Clapton, Beck, Page, etc.
Again I disagree but am enjoying the conversation, music has changed and it's I suppose no better or worse just different. One of my fav bands is a 2 piece drummer and singer, the singer also has his guitar strung with some bass strings and plays guitar and bass at the same time. Is he not talented?
This guy is amazing... https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/26380-oh-sees-john-dwyer-21st-century-renaissance-man
Yes. They are mine. Although I much prefer music one would associate with electric guitar, for some reason I’ve always preferred playing acoustic. If you’re looking for quality free instruction, I find that Justin Sandercoe’s program is probably the most consistent.
I favour acoustic as well suppose it depends on mood. The Australian guy yeah he tends to get recommended quite a bit. Not always my favourite but a good recommendation.
I find that all free instruction has gaps. Thing I like about Justin is that he at least set up a program to follow rather than just random song tutorials here and there.
I suppose it’s the same old story. I try to keep up with what’s happening, what’s changing in the music scene - it was my living for several years. But do I see anybody who will still be relevant, still selling millions of albums, still filling the biggest concert halls in 30-40 years. Nope, I don’t. One of the problems is that so few actually write their own music, it’s all done for them by production companies owned by the likes of Cowell. And when these people no longer sell enough records, they’re dumped. Bands like Snow Patrol have survived because they write their own stuff and don’t rely on ghost writers.
