Can't stand people who think that even talking about race is racism <doh>. It does exist, you know. It's a part of our lives and we should be free to speak of race in a manner which does not offend anyone. Pretending that race doesn't even exist is almost racism in itself.

And what's equally as worse is when someone make a ridiculous claim to try and make themselves appear as un-racist as possible. Don't even begin to say that you wouldn't notice, even for a split second, if the ENTIRE England national squad was black. Let's be realistic here. Yes you would. That's not a bad or racist thing though.

Valid point. It's not racist to notice a person's skin colour, it's racist to discriminate against them because of it.

Secondly, add Nasri to the white French list

And thirdly, regarding the Portsmouth post, there were a few white guys on that team, including Pedro Mendes and Niko Kranjcar

How do you know though? I don't honestly know if I would notice that at all or if I would, but it is obviously a possibility that I wouldn't. I agree that pretending to ignore race is ridiculous but how on earth can you tell if somebody would actually consciously take notice of the colour of somebody's (or a group of people's) skin if they saw them? It is possible to just see a human and not care enough to register what tone of skin they are without being purposefully ignorant for PC's sake you know.

Okay, I tried to reply to Beardface earlier but the site keeps crashing - Yeah I would notice, I just came out with that without thinking, but the point I'm making re the first post is that it's not relevant what their skin colour is, and no one really cares.

You seem certain that people would be instantly aware of everyone's race but maybe, as you mentioned before, because the area you're from has a higher Caucasian % than other areas then maybe it's different for you rather than others!

Madness. If someone put out a team of 6'7 giants I'd notice, and would be well within my rights to say "Crikey they're tall" without being tagged a heightist. If I saw an England team that was entirely white, black, ginger or fat I'd definitely notice.

On another note, I'm not a racist but I ****ing hate whites.

Trying to edit my post but Chappaz, as you said you're from a much more white % area than others maybe that's why you notice it much easier? You can't assume that everyone will think the same as you when people are from different environments and encounter different cultures and races every day..

Of course you'd be within your rights, I'm not even remotely saying you wouldn't be nor am I even discussing that at all. All I'm saying is that I don't think that I would particularly notice, or at very least there is certainly the possibility that I wouldnt, therefore I disagree with Chappaz saying everybody would.
