Brilliant game again, at this rate we'll win 5-0 or 5-1 next game. My only complaint, which I don't like watching is, we tended to do more defending and resting on a 4-*1 lead; I think Bielsa would've noticed that too.
I think we lost our shape, started doing too many long balls, and the game got scrappy. The great Leeds team of the 60’s/70’s would have played the same to the final whistle. I think the intensity of play meant they were getting tired. Also think Bielsa will sort it, he won’t like how we finished the game.
What I get excited about is the movement, the ball gets played into what I think is going to be totally wasted space and just as I go to scream wtf is he doing someone appears on the end of it. 54% possession, 17 Shots, 7 on target, away from home against Derby. Remember Derby played Friday, two extra days rest. Against Reading Derby had an astonishing 63% possession, that shows the extent of what we did today. A couple of times Berardi worried me, I feel I’m just trying to pick out something negative for the sake of it though, Keeper blinding mistake, we get behind him and move on or crucify him, ruin his confidence and harm our own chances. Can’t get over how we have done back to back games like that against teams costing how much to assemble? I think my biggest relief, last Sunday wasn’t a fluke.
I think Derby flooded the midfield second half trying to stifle us from playing it out from the back, we’ll work on that, got to remember although we’re not a new team, it’s new tactics and formation, I was willing to give us 6-8 games to gel, imagine how much better they will get.
Lot of work has been done on the training grounds. The players are playing great football. Derby were blitzed & shambolic just like last year. Thats all wee ask of our players is to give 100% and who knows were will that take us.
We were off to a flyer early last season Ristac, but not against the favourites for promotion like this term, and it went tits up, absolutely fantastic start, i'm still not gonna get carried away til probably halfway through the season if we're still playing like that, **** knows what Bielsa has done to these players in such a short time but long may it continue.
