That was the excuse given at the time believe it or not. The local media, especially RH broadcast at the time that they had reports of City fans burgling the FC shop on the night before the game and stealing the replica shirts. Which didn't explain away the fact that those on the pitch after the game, clearly shown live on the BBC at the time, wore FC replica shirts going back several seasons. It didn't explain either the black and white jester hats some of them wore because none were reported stolen in the burglary. It was a white wash of biblical proportions which kept the blame away from rugby league and shifted onto football and especially Hull City until the heat died down and it was all conveniently forgotten about. Its a family game they keep telling us.

Absolutely true ,Hull City supporters got the blame . Any trouble at a Hull rugby match and it's not the family friendly rugby fans causing it . Nice and and easy to blame the Cityhoolies though .

Visas might be a problem for those with criminal convictions. Which won't help the team either.

Only after an uproar when it was real8sed that if Toronto made the Super League a lot of teams would not be able to take half of their first choice players.

False, the only uproar was because teams didn't plan ahead for the qualifiers and applied for visa's last minute. Teams have been going over there for two years and have taken players with criminal records, Toronto even signed some of them. It's a complete non-issue.

You may also add that because we have 2 rugby teams, in different areas of the city, divided by a river, that there is also the element east v west Hull, and the animosity runs as deep between the relevant rugby factions as against Hull City. I have also experienced contempt for Hull City during visits to your Costa Del Brid, mostly when the Wessies seem to swamp the place, but Bridites seem to prefer those not in the same East Riding Of Yorkshire as Hull (yes I know the others are the West Riding).

Yes, there are verminous types in Brid. The ones I despise even more than the Man U, Liverpool ones are the types born in Brid who spend all week insulting Wessies then travel 60 miles and spend a load of money to sit amongst thousands of them.
No problems with people who moved here from Leeds and elsewhere supporting their home town teams.

Another night of humiliation and abject embarrassment for the local sides in this rugby-crazy city where the HDM has to print a special edition each day with red print as the folk in East Hull will just not buy it in the normal black and white printed edition. Yes folks, the rivalry is that fierce but it never repeat never comes to blows or escalates into soccer-style violence.

    10,000!!! Wow
Seem to remember one of steweys long impassioned thesaurus filled posts explaining how Adam Pearson was engaging with the fans and building up the support. Can't be true. Must be lying about the attendances to make city appear better. Ye that'll be it.

A minority sport, that will soon be attracting more fans than the biggest game in the world, in the same stadium.
