Yes they are. Earlier this year, the Club objected to THST’s criticism of steep ticket price rises. It told us we could not expect players to be signed or wages to be competitive while we opposed those ticket price rises. Fans have paid the prices asked. And yet no signings have been made. We know that gate receipts are no longer as fundamental as they once were for financing transfer fees or wages. But ticketing income at Spurs is now higher than it has ever been. We are curious as to what that money has been used for. We have been told the stadium build will not affect transfer spending. We have the highest paid Chairman in the Premier League. Our fans pay some of the highest prices in world football. we believe fans are entitled to a full and credible explanation of what has happened this summer. I've highlighted the answer in bold for them
I don’t get the hype about him, I watched him again the other night trying to see what the fuss is about and what I might have previously missed......still no ****ing idea. They did bid £25m but Villa wanted another £7m apparently and Levy wouldn’t pay it.
buying is no guarantee of success. I'm not happy but I'm not hopeless. Got a good first team...will take all your **** on and prove you wrong as usual.
Levy saw a chance to take advantage of a skint Villa and was looking to lowball. The new owners ****ed that up for him but it’s probably a blessing in disguise. Going forwards I think Spurs are fine with some reasonable depth apart from actually up front. Defensively I’d be concerned- declining goalkeeper, who knows what Aldeweireld is doing and Vertonghen getting on.
Players themselves expect to see the squad strengthened and quality added. To not bring in a single player is a **** up imo, as it sets the wrong tone in the dressing room for a start off, where’s the ambition? Will surely be the question asked. You’ve still got a good squad and a top manager so you’ll do alright I’m sure, but you have to be disappointed that closing the gap doesn’t seem to be on Levy’s agenda.
I’m not happy. For me it displays a lack of ambition, a lack of desire to kick on. As a statement of intent it gives off all the wrong messages.
You need to read my posts on the Spurs board to get a true reflection of my views on Levy. Considering where we are today...I as a fan can only approach the season from a positive POV because as you said we have a top first team. Levy is bothered about building the business...I know that...he lacks ambition on the pitch...our only great summer of spending was after selling Bale...ohh I know what that bald **** is all about. I'm just trying not to let my negative views filter onto my opinion of our team which I think is a match for anyone.
You've got a decent first XI but after that the squad depth is thin. As last season showed you're not in a position to challenge for the league and champions league with that squad and with player departures and some players on the decline, you badly needed to strengthen this summer. On your day, yes you can challenge any team, but over the course of the season, not so much. What I'd be more concerned with though is that Pooch came out publicly and said the club needed to be brave this summer and Levy completely shafted him, whilst also doubling his own wages, making him the highest paid chairman in the league, massively increasing ticket prices and pissing the fans off in the process.
As I've been saying to my fellow Spurs fans on the Spurs board...Levy ****ed up, for me. Alot of fans are greatful for what he has done and I won't deprive him of that glory but for me this was the summer to spend in order to maybe move up a notch. He showed a lack of ambition there...great cheese room though ffs
He's done alright at Spurs, but when you look back at his record it ain't that good. Sure he's got you up and around the top 4, but let's be honest you were ****ing woeful before that and for a club of your size you were badly under performing. But he's sacked 12 managers, and won 1 measly league cup since 2001. And it's not like he's not had the cash to spend as you've had several major windfalls from selling your best players. Levy reminds me of those Arsenal board members when we first moved to the Emirates, dining out on 'potential' whilst gradually allowing the club to slide. It was always going to be a make or break season for Spurs, given Poch's comments at the beginning of the summer and the expectations from your fans and players to build on the progress of the last few seasons. Now, Levy has made that task even harder.
From a position of bankruptcy 25 odd years ago we’ve come a long way. We’ve established ourselves as legitimate challengers for the title, etc. Ok, I know the cost of the new stadium has to be a factor, but now was the time to kick in and show some real ambition, we’ve failed to do that.
