How do any players actually get to play for a first team? Chelski and Man £ity have some of the best youngsters but only ever go out on loan in order to play meaningful games.
Championship teams , who don't just spend, develop players who are then deemed good enough for PL clubs to buy.
How many players never make it at the top level because they are not given a chance.
Foden is good enough but can barely get a game. How many games did Rashford play last season? Maybe had he played more it would have helped the national team. Everton have bought loads of players this summer. Where does that leave Lookman?
    You get my drift........

Can't say I'm too bothered on the whole. We needed to buy real quality and maybe a couple of promising players. The value wasn't there so we didn't waste our money buying trash or overpaying. Also, I'm happy as our young players should get some more opportunities which was much needed after we put that aside last season.

Only thing that bothers me is that we'll still have to pay huge prices for tickets. Some of the savings should surely be passed on to the fans.

Exactly, it needs a change in the rules. Something like if a team sends more than 3 players out on loan, they lose their TV money and it is donated to grass roots football. The only way you will change things is to hit them in the pocket.

Additionally, clubs like chavski should be banned from bringing a player in on loan when they already have so many out on loan.

Fact is they'd rather a player didn't make it than made it with us. Clubs are so petty these days and don't value the players themselves.

Rashford's probably a bad example though. Didn't start a lot but certainly played a lot.

This. The increase in ticket prices and total lack of business is a joke, frankly.
I expect a really hostile reaction at Wembley if we don't win at Newcastle on Saturday, which won't be an easy feat.
We're starting the campaign on the back foot again and there's really no reason for it.

Hi guys. Hope you have all enjoyed your summer.
Absolutely gutted we haven't signed anyone but on the other hand delighted that we have retained our best players.
We have a fantastic squad with a real unity and whereas other clubs have bought loads of shiny new players at least we have continuity.
All this talk of a £150m transfer war chest at the start of the window was obviously bollox. The stadium costs have taken its toll and we just won't be able to sign the Kovacics of this world for a couple more seasons yet.

Hopefully Alderweireld, Dembele and Rose remain professional and don't cause any disruption, I don't think they will.

Can't wait to see the real Lucas Moura this season , I'm treating him as our summer signing.
Lamela will hopefully stay injury free and young Winks overcomes his injuries to carry on where he left off last season because at one point he was absolutely fantastic.

Im addittion, Hopefully the likes of Onomah, KWP, Foyth, Skipp and Amos get the chance to impress when they are called into the match day 18 to cover injuries/rest and suspension.

Finally we have this sensational stadium to move into which will give everyone a lift.

I'm sure Levy's logic is that you'll still be paying to see a top side. It still doesn't sit right though as tickets are too much to begin with and the reasoning is supposedly that we need to maximise our resources but we clearly haven't done that in the transfer market.

    Hi PNP

Can't see it mate. Poch won't allow it. He has been harping on today about the importance in keeping our best players.

I can see Rose leaving on loan. I think his comments over the summer burnt the remaining embers of the bridges set fire to last year. Unlike Toby and Mousa, he has the capacity to cause real disruption if things don't go well for us or him.

Hopefully Janssen and GKN will be put out of their misery with permanent moves abroad.

Beyond that and a couple of loans for youngsters, I can't see much happening.

I think Rose on loan still has legs, as does Vinny/GKN.

The latter 2 didn't play last year so hopefully won't be missed as long as we hold up injury wise

Selling Rose and replacing him would've been acceptable. Loaning him out and not bringing anyone in? Not so much.

So what is the real truth of the matter. We didn't sign anyone because:

    a) we simply couldn't get clubs to play along with our usual brinkmanship tactics?
    b) the so-called ring fenced money for the stadium was a total crock?

Footnote: any talk of January transfers is pointless. It's the worst time of year to sign anyone and even if we do, we'll pay over the odds for average quality. Opportunity most certainly missed.

Janssen should go. Won’t be missed.

In fairness to GK, even though miles behind Son and others, he done his chances no harm in pre-season.

I wouldn’t let Rose go unless he bitches out and demands it. KWP isn’t a natural LB and it’d be a risk playing him there if Ben can’t play. No problem with KWP at RB but think he could be exposed on the left against top opposition.

Surely we have enough spare cash for some contract extensions now. Toby included.

Sure, same deal as we offered him before though.

£130k a week is more than generous for a guy who missed most of last season.

Agreed. We certainly weren't far off with that figure.
I'd rather tie up Eriksen/Alli, even just going on age.
