    Probably doesn't matter. Surely Watford don't let their managers get too involved with transfers? It'll be someone different in the dugout for them come this time next season.

    He wouldn’t be able to play against us and if he can help them take points off our other rivals when he would be on the bench here then it could be a good move

    I don’t think so no, I would hope that if we do loan him out there are some kind of clauses/guarantees about how much he plays. Otherwise there is no point if he is just doing the same role there as here

    One loan/free/panic buy of a backup calibre player only. Ings sounds about right, as I cannot decide whether he'd be our fourth or fifth-best striker option.

    I’d be amazed if we brought Ings.

    I still think we may go for Alcacer.

    But I’m in a real optimistic mindset today.

    I may be boarding on self-harming if we don’t sort someone better than we currently have by the time the transfer widow slithers shut.

    As is typical, we choose not to upgrade the squad thanks to the "financial impact" of the Carrillo signing, and in a few months we will announce a mighty profit for 2017-18. The financial impact of relegation won't be so kind.
