well thank god this utterly irrelevant preseason is finally over.

I really hope nobody has got carried away with any individual players performances during what is after all a glorified kick about or two during training.

 

And don’t forget - we have Ox and Curtis Jones ...

 

Ox is out for whole season. Jones is a completely unknown.

 

Good pre season but it means nothing. 3 points on Sunday and I'm happy.

 

Yes on Ox. Would love to give Jones mins in the cups.

luckily it's not about us fans it's about what klopp does.

 

We've bemoaned the lack of squad depth for years. It's plain crazy wanting to get rid of decent players now that we may have a better first choice, just because you've taken a dislike to them.

We have a lot of centre backs but only one is very good. And the rest are average and injury prone..

You'll never get a team that has "world class" backup players, at this moment we have a very good first team with good backup players in most positions and a good crop of youngsters to back that up. There is really nothing to moan about, however.

All that was said was that we couldn't expect to have two equally good players for each spot.
And we can't - not unless and until we start winning things and become a major force again.

I'd argue that the results in preseason don't mean a thing [unless like Klopp you don't even like losing a kickabout with your mates]. For me I got to see players like Keita, Fabinho, Jones, Camacho [1 or 2 others] that I'd never seen play before. I now have a basic idea what to expect based on how they handled themselves when arguably, it didn't matter. The results weren't important but the performances were.

Since some on here have watched every pre-season game and believe to mean something, maybe people should post their players predictions for the forthcoming season based on what they've seen. We'll potentially see how little these games matter in terms of performance then

(everything but fitness, the only thing that does matter)
