No none of us do, and you’ll se I’ve not really got involved in the gradels gone, what do we do blah de blah bullshit. Just the way you are both going about it, you and Josh I mean by that, is alienating a lot of people and quite frankly ****ing people off, as I’m sure they are you. they are venting their frustrations on a messageboard and releasing anger is good for everyone tbh. I believe it another thread one of you referred to someone as a ****ing idiot but if you didn’t then I was wrong on that count. angry. People are allowed there opinion as are you, but I’ve found you both to be quite condescending and patronising over the past few weeks and its as though you are accusing people who don’t believe of not being fans. That’s what I don’t like. I’m as much a fan as anyone is, we all follow in our different ways, but we are not sheep and don’t all have the same opinion. That’s what I love about football, the different opinions and the discussions. So if you think I’m not a fan because I’m not blindly following Bates then **** you
no he didn't? he said it was good opportunity, bit different going to your manager slamming in a request!!
What we should be examining is why Max was motivated to hand in a transfer request. Since there's been no mention of him being offered a contract by United, it's obvious that he felt unwanted and started examining his options elsewhere. What kind of **** club doesn't offer one of their best players a contract extension before it reaches its terminal year? We could have had him last season any time from February to June when he came out in public and begged for an extension. Did we give it to him? No. Whose fault is that? Ken Bates'. There's no conspiracy about it, just another Bates 'blunder' (if intentional mismanagement can be called that) which will cost us in the future.
All the talk is of him wanting £25k and knowing from well into last season that there was interest. The way I read it was that he wanted those wages or he was off.
Simon so your guessing now he was demanding £25K Suppose you think the season ticket prices are correct too
It's not a guess, someone posted the link earlier and to be honest right now I can't be bothered to find it. I don't blindly follow Bates, I simply don't see why everything has to be twisted into some conspiracy theory based on things people made up to contradict the facts. Gradel wanted more money than we were willing to pay, an offer came in from a club Gradel wanted to go to, so he handed in a transfer request and we decided the offer was good enough that it was better off accepting it than forcing Max to stay against his will. If you see it differently I wouldn't mind if you simply disagreed with me rather than accuse me of blindly supporting Bates.
There's no way of knowing what a player really wants unless you enter negotiations with them. Myself, I'd have given him 25k if that was the bottom line, but I don't think it will have been. Just more archaic stubbornness from Bates who thinks he's some kind of saviour of football by refusing to enter contract negotiations till as late as possible. He's toying with our club's playing staff's future like it's a game of "chicken". We should have offered him a contract last season. We should have at the very least entered negotiations with him (and attempted to knock down the 25kpw demand if true) before sending him packing. We should have refused his transfer request and kept on playing him. Do you agree with any of those three statements?
You cant find the link, because they is no link saying his agent wanted 25k, and dont link some dude off twitter. Do you think the club is correct on season ticket prices
Of course, because a reliable football journalist's twitter is far less reliable than the combination of what Gradel said and our imaginations. And no I don't agree with the season ticket prices at this level, at least while not backed up by spending on the squad.
