Has anyone heard the extent of Sinclair's hamstring injury, if it's long term and bearing in mind Watmore is an unknown entity until he proved his fitness then that would leave us with just two and currently Wyke is injured for at least three weeks.
If we get one in and I think we should we need a permanent signing and not another loan.

I think we need one more striker in. A big lad who will provide something different to the others.

Wyke is a big lad, make a good route one target but so does Maja I was impressed with what I saw of his hold up play on Saturday.
Wykes main strength is attacking crosses into the box.

That's good then and he fills the target man role. It's not surprising I wasn't sure of his height, the first three results on google list it as 1.75, 1.81 and 1.88 so he could have been anywhere between 5'7 and 6'1.

Agree about Maja he's not hugely tall but he's solid and holding the ball up is one of his main attributes.

Maja is good on the floor ball to feet but he jumps like Danny Dichio! Wyke wins balls in the air from the admittedly little I’ve seen if him

I thought Sinclair looked a real handful before he got crocked, not scared to put himself about, be an asset.

I hope we do have some serious firepower this season. Goals take pressure off the defence and get the crowd bouncing and there's no crowd like ours. Attacking is supposed to be Ross' preference so I think there will be lots of them but we maybe do need one more traditional forward especially if Wyke is a bit injury prone and possibly Sinclair too.

League One Sunderland missed out on signing Rangers' Scottish Premiership outcast Greg Docherty earlier in the summer but aren't giving up yet.

It It well documented that Greg Docherty is not part of Steven Gerrard’s immediate plans at Rangers.

The 21-year-old midfielder only arrived at Ibrox from Hamilton in the January transfer window and made a positive impression on supporters, some of whom likened him to the former Gers captain Steven Davis.

But after bringing in Scott Arfield, Ovie Ejaria and Lassana Coulibaly, Docherty has tumbled down the pecking order and hasn’t featured in any of Gerrard’s five competitive games so far.

Now, it was expected that the energetic midfielder would leave on loan for the 2018/19 season but latest reports in the Northern Echo suggest that Rangers would consider selling him too. Sunderland have been heavily linked and it is being reported that they have been told it will take £675,000 to sign Docherty permanently.

This is the same fee Rangers paid Hamilton seven months ago, so it seems they would be happy to recoup their investment.

The Northern Echo reports that Sunderland manager Jack Ross is a big fan of Docherty and is now considering whether or not to make a new move, having seen a deal collapse earlier in the summer.

Report: Ligue 1 club have been interested in Rangers forward since January
It is reported, however, that a number of Championship clubs have been in contact with Rangers too and this is a potential blow to Sunderland’s hopes.

The only reason would be that Shrewsbury would guarantee him 1st team football and we might not. My gut feeling is that we were never really in for him.

With us doing our transfer business early could this be the quietest deadline day for us in quite a while?
