I think it's a sign of progress, that this early in the season, the whipping boy has already been identified by some. <ok>

It's funny how many other whipping boys ended up being cult hero's.

What does huttons age have to do with it? You don't like age mentioned Sterling.

He's quick. But we gave him the ball in a bad area with a poor clearance. Batty out of position and he's on the edg of our box bursting through against dw. Got lucky with it going through his legs and fair play well taken goal.
Batty and Henriksen both well out of position is what cost us there.
Cattermole would have scythed him down

I don't like age mentioned in the context of signings and sell ons and people thinking that 30 is the new 60, but having not scored for seven years, it's a bit embarrassing to have conceded to him. That and he's a massive bellend.

I'd actually take Cattermole, I don't think he'll come because I don't think we'll pay the wage deal they want, but I'd take him for this season.

I was happy with the first hour like most but obviously disappointed with the end result. The end scoreline was what I predicted before the game in the pub, let's be honest what can we expect its a lot of new players many who haven't played in the championship and cost was very little. If we don't strengthen then I can see us in a relegation fight but I think most of us expect that. It's a young side which if we lose a few to start with the n confidence will drain quickly so more experience is needed fairly quickly. Atkins knows that but will be get the backing.

I have to take issue with what Adkins said in his interview .. he says making the subs was him trying to be positive and that Kane and Cambell were tiring .. what a crock of shyte that is .. Campbell bless him was still all over the pitch giving it his all and Kane for me was as strong when he left the pitch as he was when he started it. As far as I was concerned Evandro was blowing out of his arse .. Batty similarly and Henriksen was none existent for the majority of the game .. for me it was crying out for the legs of Irvine tbh in the middle .. if Evandro is the creative spark then give him legs around him. I understand our lack of options off the bench but there was alternatives which would have been more pertinent. As soon as Kane went off our left side became weaker resulting in both goals coming from that side. I only hope reinforcements are on the way.. we need better simple as

Campbell was everywhere but up front.
He's better tracking back than as a forward these days.

We looked alright up until the subs. Personally I would've put T.Kane at left back, took off Kingsley for N.Dicko and shifted Campbell to inside forward on the left. Ah well, being the first game and all I'm still quietly positive. We love being underdogs, it suits us to the core.

You know when someone's had a good game that they can pass through it quietly... I agree totally, IO think the lad was excellent. The look on his face when the 3rd one went in said it all.

He didn't even play last year did he. Couple of Cup games.

    Talk about extreme over reaction.

I do think Marshall should have been playing last season for the reserves build himself back up.

Laughing at your own players. Well done.
Mcgregor got player of the year and conceded 70 league goals.
    Strange world.

And if it wasn't for him it would have reached 100 conceded. He stopped shots .. something which Marshall has forgotten to actually do .. look at the man's footwork .. for a pro keeper it's abysmal

What a load of crap. How the **** do you know about footwork for a goalie.
He could do nothing with any of the goals. Mcgregor wouldn't have stopped them either.

I said I hoped he'd go back to Cardiff in the close season as it hasn't worked out for him here. But he is here. Adkins has had him all preseason and decided he has faith in him yet all the xperts, most on here who don't go to games even, know better. Arf

He had a howler of a goal kick. His only mistake. Didn't greegsy pass it to a Leeds player early last season. For their goal

It does mAke me quite angry the level of stupidity on here over a defeat.
Guess I'm a dinosaur in a twitterati world of instant over the top reactions.

    Not for me thanks.

Had a lifetime's worth of 'sleeping giant' failure status.

Then we had 5 seasons of PL, hundreds of millions of pounds through the coffers squandered, embezzled, siphoned off, wasted, frittered away by charlatans, con men, bluffers and malevolent bunglers.

We are no longer an underdog club, certainly not at this level and with our recent history.

The last thing we need as a club is for sections of the fanbase to retreat into the mental comfort zone of beating minnow clubs, which for so long sustained them.

Altogether now: "Underdogs, you're avin a laugh"

And dont forget The wonderful mcgregor was largely responsible for going out of europe with a kick very similar to Marshalls.
